Description

Summary: this adds Apple Pie, Baked Beetroot, Baked Carrot, Cake Slice, Cereal Bar, Cheese, Chocolate, Edible Pufferfish, Fruit salad, Omelette and Raw Fish Roll (not sushi).

Made with mcreator and has no requirements. English and Spanish. Only 1.20.1 forge.

Use it in modpacks and feel free to take the sprites for your own project. No attribution required.

I made this mod primarily for two reasons:

1) Because I always use some mod that encourages me to vary my diet, and I didn’t want to install other food mods because they add too many.
2) Because in absolutely every one of my playthroughs, I end up with a surplus of seeds and eggs. Plus, I never used honey for anything, and melons on their own provide very little nourishment. This mod gives an extra use to all those items so they don't go to waste as much.

The 9 truly simple foods are: Apple Pie, Baked Beetroot, Baked Carrot, Cereal Bar, Cheese, Chocolate, Fruit salad, Omelette and Raw Fish Roll (not sushi).

It also adds cake slices with a little mechanic. When you destroy a minecraft cake, you can collect the remaining slices. That is, if you destroy a whole cake, it will give you the 7 slices. But if you eat 2 slices before destroying it, it will give you the 5 remaining slices.

The other not-so-simple food is the "edible pufferfish". It's easy to prepare, as it only requires a pufferfish. However, the outcome will depend on the cook's skill.
A poorly prepared pufferfish will give you the same symptoms as a raw pufferfish, with intensity depending on its quality. If you get poisoned by a bad pufferfish, you'll gain insight into how to improve the recipe and eventually create higher-quality pufferfish.
As the quality of the pufferfish increases, its nutritional value improves and the poisoning effects decrease if things go wrong. It also provides a bit of Water Breathing, but that's just a nod to its traditional use. If you want to breathe underwater, making potions is infinitely better than relying on food.

Here are the recipes. Beetroot and carrots are made the same as the potatoes.

*note: The black pufferfish is not a thing, it turns into the corresponding pufferfish after being crafted.

Edible pufferfish range from tier F to tier A, improving their nutritional value, safety when eaten, reducing side effects, and increasing Water Breathing duration.
White is F (92% safe), Water Breathing 5 s.
Red is E (96% safe), Water Breathing 6 s.
Yellow is D (98% safe), Water Breathing 7 s.
Green is C (99% safe), Water Breathing 8 s.
Cyan is B (99.5% safe), Water Breathing 9 s.
Purple is A (100% safe), Water Breathing 10 s.

You can only get recipe upgrade ideas by being poisoned by pufferfish of equal or higher quality than the ones you can prepare. That is, you cannot level up your skill by eating only low-tier fish.

If necessary, there is the command

/mvfwvi [target] [level]

Where "target" is the target, and "level" is the tier letter (a, b, c, d, e, f).

Example: the following command makes you prepare tier B fish:
/mvfwvi @p b
