Manhunt is also a standalone video game, released initially in 2003 for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and Microsoft Windows platforms. Developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games, it is an action-adventure stealth game where players take on the role of a convicted criminal who must escape various pursuers, including law enforcement, gangs, and other criminals, across a dark and gritty urban landscape.
In Manhunt, the player progresses through a series of levels, completing objectives while avoiding detection and engaging in brutal, stealth-based combat when necessary. The game is known for its dark atmosphere, graphic violence, and controversial themes, which have sparked debate and garnered both praise and criticism from players and critics alike.
