Mars Life is a mod where you are stranded on Mars and try to escape.
I strongly recommend using JEI.
I don't recommend playing this mod while not on Mars.
How to begin the challange?
To begin go into creative mode and build a crying obsidian portal and light it using "Go to mars" item. Then when you are on mars destroy the portal and switch to survival.
Mars life
When you are on mars try to find clusters of ore and destroy them. When you got some items craft a Holdable laser cutter to mine underground ores and mine faster.
Escape plan
To escape you need a titan rocket wich is very expensive.
