MCAI is a client-side NeoForge (version: 21.1.233) mod for Minecraft 1.21.1 that adds an in-game AI assistant backed by a local Ollama server. It is designed to help players get useful answers without leaving the game, with a focus on modded Minecraft, progression, and recipes.
MCAI can answer questions from chat or through its in-game GUI, and it uses live game context when available to make replies more accurate. It includes loaded recipe grounding, recipe tracking with inventory highlights, a branch-style recipe visual in the GUI, quick lookup commands for items, blocks, and mods, chat history tools, tone and chat mode controls, bookmarks, and soft FTB Quests integration for progression guidance.
MCAI also works with JEI. When JEI is installed, it can open tracked recipes and usages directly in JEI, and recipe nodes in the MCAI GUI can be clicked to open the matching recipe in JEI.
If you want to use MCAI in a modpack or alongside another mod and want the integration to be reliable, contact me first so I can verify the compatibility and make sure the mods work together properly.
MCAI is built for local use and can still provide limited offline fallback answers for local recipe, lookup, and quest questions when Ollama is unavailable.
