Cow Cooldown

Tired of players farming infinite milk buckets from a single cow? Cow Cooldown gives every cow its own cooldown after being milked with a bucket, so milk becomes a resource that has to be managed.

Features

  • Per-cow cooldown after each bucket of milk
  • Cooldown duration configurable (default: 5 minutes)
  • Works on mooshrooms too, baby cows are unaffected
  • Cooldown is saved with the cow and survives server restarts, chunk unload, etc.
  • Optional Jade integration: look at a cow to see the remaining time
  • No items, blocks or recipes added, so it is safe to add to an existing world

Configuration

The file config/cowcooldown-common.toml has a single option, cooldownSeconds, from 1 to 86400 seconds (default 300).

Installation

Requires NeoForge 1.21.1. Install it on the server. Installing it on the client is optional: players who have it get a smoother experience (no brief flicker of the milk bucket) and the Jade tooltip. In singleplayer, install it like any other mod.

Limitations

Only milking a cow by hand with a bucket is affected. Other sources of milk, such as milking added by other mods, are not covered.
