Description
MineStreetEco
MineStreetEco is a player-driven economy mod for Minecraft 1.21.1 using NeoForge. Instead of giving the market unlimited stock, the economy begins empty. Players place items into circulation by selling them, and other players can then purchase those exact items.
Why I Made MineStreetEco
I play a lot of All the Mods 10, and I wanted an economy that could keep up with the enormous number of items found in a large modpack. Many economy systems work well with vanilla items but become difficult to manage once thousands of modded items, equipment variants, gems, scrolls, enchantments, and other component-based items are involved.
MineStreetEco was created with ATM10 in mind. Its market automatically builds a large searchable catalog and tracks modded item variants without requiring every item to be configured manually. The goal is to make a massive modpack economy feel manageable while still allowing each server’s market to grow naturally through player activity.
ATM10 8.1 is the primary environment in which MineStreetEco was developed and tested, but ATM10 itself is not required. The mod can also be used with other Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge installations, although compatibility outside ATM10 has received less testing.
Features
- Circulation-based market where player sales create stock and purchases consume it
- Dynamic prices that respond to supply and demand
- UMD (United Minecraft Dollar) currency with persistent player balances
- Searchable market with filters for name, mod, tag, category, rarity, and price
- Separate In Stock and All Items views
- Interactive price-history charts with trends and recent activity
- Player inventory tab showing inventory, armor, and offhand items
- Exact item trading that preserves enchantments, durability, names, rarity, components, and other NBT data
- Activity page showing recent player purchases and sales
- Links from recent activity back to listings that are still available
- Automatic discovery of modded items and item variants
- Automatic protection against operator items, creative-only tools, debug items, and other unsafe market entries
- Management panel for item prices, market locks, and player balances
- Configurable prices, category multipliers, tag multipliers, disabled items, starting balances, and market behavior
- Server-authoritative transactions and player-to-player payments
MineStreetEco includes additional item-variant support for Apotheosis gems and Iron’s Spells ’n Spellbooks scroll levels. These mods are optional and are not required to run MineStreetEco.
Using the Market
Open the market with any of these commands:
/economy
/eco
/minestreeteco
/mseco
Additional player commands:
/economy balance
/economy pay <player> <amount>
The market opens in In Stock mode, which displays items currently available to purchase. The All Items view displays the entire safe catalog, including items that are currently out of stock.
Buying or selling normally handles one item. Holding Shift handles 16 items, while holding Ctrl handles up to 64 items.
The Player tab displays occupied inventory, armor, and offhand slots. Items can be sold individually or as an entire selected stack at the value calculated by the server.
Administration
Server operators can open the management panel with:
/economy admin panel
The management panel can be used to:
- Set or clear item-price overrides
- Manually lock or unlock market items
- View automatically blocked and manually locked items
- Review the reason an item was blocked
- Set, add, or remove money from player balances
- Rebuild the market catalog after configuration changes
MineStreetEco automatically blocks known operator items and detects many creative-only, administrative, and debug items from other mods. Additional items, tags, namespaces, and wildcard patterns can be disabled through the configuration file.
Price History
Each item can have its recent market activity displayed as an interactive price chart. The chart tracks price movement over time, displays the base price, shows the overall change, and provides transaction information when individual points are hovered.
Green indicators represent positive buying activity, while red indicators represent selling activity. Prices remain within configurable market limits.
Installation
Install the same MineStreetEco jar in the mods folder on both the dedicated server and every connecting player’s client.
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.21.1
- NeoForge 21.1.249 or a newer compatible version in the 21.1 line
- Java 21
MineStreetEco does not require JEI, ATM10, Apotheosis, or Iron’s Spells ’n Spellbooks.
Future Version Support
MineStreetEco currently supports Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge. Support for newer Minecraft versions is planned as the project grows, depending on community interest, modpack adoption, and continued development. Specific versions and release dates are not guaranteed.
Planned Development
Possible future additions include:
- Additional Minecraft and NeoForge version support
- Expanded compatibility with popular modded-item systems
- More market statistics and economy-management tools
- The MineStreetWolf villager profession and related gameplay
- Further GUI improvements based on player feedback
These plans may change as MineStreetEco develops. Features will be announced when they are ready for testing.
