Description
MineVault
This mod allows you to have multiple chests linked by a common name. These chests spawn naturally in the world once a day and once a night, containing random items, and only remain after being opened or collected. They generate randomly in both new and previously explored areas, but only on the surface.

**A code-shared storage chest for Minecraft — NeoForge 1.21.1**
Place a **Vault Chest**, give it a **code**, and every Vault Chest with the same code **shares the same 54-slot inventory** — even across dimensions. Lock it so only its owner can open it, or find **naturally spawned Vault Chests** with random loot while exploring the Overworld.
---
## ✨ Features
**Code-based shared storage**: type any code and every chest with that code accesses the same inventory. Great for bases, outposts, or cross-dimension logistics (Overworld → Nether → End).
- **54 slots** per shared inventory.
- **Hybrid lock**: any player can use a code, but the **owner** (whoever placed the chest) can **lock it** so only they (and operators) can open it.
- **Natural spawns (configurable)**:
Vault Chests appear in the Overworld with **random loot**:
- Spawn chance per chunk region — default **5% every 10 chunks** by day, **10% by night**.
- **1 chest per day + 1 per night** (global, configurable). - Surface only, on **dirt/stone** (never on structures or plants).
- **Despawn on chunk unload** if unclaimed; **opening a chest makes it permanent** (yours).
- Nameplates show the chest code above it (works with shaderpacks).
- **Craftable**: 8 Obsidian + 1 Ender Pearl.
- **Animated chest texture** (Blockbench model, green verdant theme).
- **Sound effects**: chest open/close, wood sounds.
- **Drop its own item** when broken (contents spill to the ground if it was a natural chest).
## 🎮 How to use
1. **Craft** the Vault Chest (8 Obsidian + 1 Ender Pearl) or find one naturally.
2. **Place** it and **right-click** to open the menu.
3. **Type a code** in the name field. Every chest with the same code = the same inventory.
4. (Optional) Click the **lock** to make it private to its owner.
5. Use the **Name: Yes/No** toggle to hide the nameplate.
## 🌍 Natural spawns
Spawns are configured in `config/minevault-server.toml`:
| Option | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `enabled` | `true` | Toggle the whole spawn system |
| `chunkInterval` | `10` | Chunk region size that rolls the chance (10×10 chunks) |
| `dayChance` | `0.05` | Chance a region spawns a chest during the day |
| `nightChance` | `0.10` | Chance a region spawns a chest at night |
| `maxPerDay` | `1` | Global max chests per day phase |
| `maxPerNight` | `1` | Global max chests per night phase |
Natural chests contain **random loot** (iron, gold, emeralds, redstone, rare diamonds, enchanted books, ender pearls…). They **disappear when their chunk unloads** unless you open them — opening claims the chest and makes it permanent.
## 🛠 Commands
- `/minevault give` — give yourself a Vault Chest.
- `/minevault spawnnatural` — force a natural chest near you (test).
## ⚙️ Requirements
- **Minecraft 1.21.1**
- **NeoForge 21.1.233+**
- No other mods required. Compatible with shaderpacks (Iris/Oculus).
