Overview
Mining but stupid adds many new interesting mining features to Minecraft. This adds new ores to all three dimensions, and adds things like:
-Random references to other games
-A gun
-Money and buying and selling things
-[insert description for error ore here]
-infested endstone
So, let's see what this mod has, shall we?
Overworld Features
Here are the overworld features:
Money
"I sure wish there was a way to trade with certain villagers for items in hit game Minecraft!"
Money can be found uncommonly in the overworld. The ore drops a few 1-dollar bills per ore, and you can craft them into 9-dollar bills, 81-dollar bills, and then the pretty penny. Crafting the new vault block, you can trade with the new banker villager for various items, and once they reach master level, you can buy the You Win Block, for.. uh... $6480? That sure does cost a pretty penny. cue laugh track
Gadolinium
"Do NOT look up the abbreviation of gadolinium, WORST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE!!"
Gadolinium can also be found uncommonly in the overworld. It is a purely decorative ore set, with you being able to combine various blocks (smooth stone, glass, stone bricks, etc.) with gadolinium to create blocks that come from the hit 2013 mobile game Geometry Dash. That's all it's used for. It's used to make geometry dash blocks.
Nether Features
Here are the nether features:
Amogusite
"I FOUND THE AMONG US INGOT AT 3 AM ?!? (NOT CLICKBAIT) (GONE MINECRAFT)"
Rarely in the nether, you can find the new suspicious temple, a structure that resembles, you guessed it, the Among Us crewmate. Inside, you can find suspicious nether bricks, which drop amogusite scraps. Four of these make an ingot, and you can use the amogusite ingots to craft a dagger, which has medium damage but a low cooldown, and a gun. I added an among us gun to minecraft. Anyways, you need to be careful, though, as there are crewmate spawners in the suspicious temple. They are pretty strong, and drop dead bodies, which you can use to craft potions of suspicion, which give you invisibility, strength, and resistance.
Flameburger
"This ore in Minecraft still cooks their flameburgers the old-fashioned way."
Flameburger ore can be found uncommonly in the nether, which drops flameburgers when mined. These have high hunger restoration, low saturation, and set you on fire when eaten. However, you can smelt them to make charred flameburgers, which are not only better, but they don't set you on fire! Hooray! These are intended to be a food for quick healing, and not a reliable food source.
End Features (there's a lot)
Here are the end features:
Error
"Uhh.. is it supposed to look like this or is it just a meta joke?"
Error ore can be found rarely in the end. Error is the end equivalent for diamonds, and can be used to craft error armor. Error armor is supposed to be an alternative replacement for netherite, and when you wear a full set, mobs that attack you will either gain slowness, glowing, weakness, or strength (to balance it), with an equal chance for any of them to be given.
Evil Coal
"Evil Coal: I'm gonna UNSMELT your items and turn them COLD!!! HAHAHA!!!"
Evil coal can be found commonly in the end. It is a stronger version of coal, being able to smelt 15 items per item. Evil coal blocks can be smelted for 150 items. uhh.. yeah. That's it.
Faker Endstone
"With new rewards come new risks."
Faker endstone is common in the outer end islands. It looks similar to endstone, but there are two key differences:
- It takes slightly longer to mine
- It releases a scurry when mined.
Now, what is a scurry? It's a new silverfish variant, and it's stronger and faster, and is immune to fall damage. It's safe to say that you should be careful when mining in the end.
Infinislate
"HEY! My STONE just underwent MITOSIS! WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?!?"
Infinislate is a new stone type can be found rarely in the end. There are usually only one or two blocks per vein, and you may be wondering why. Well, it's because one infinislate drops two of itself. You can get infinite stone in minecraft using just one block. It also looks pretty good, and you can make polished and brick variants as well. (This may not affect gameplay much depending on how you play, but I didn't add the stonecutter recipes. To be completely honest, I didn't want to make 20 stonecutter recipes for a single stone type.)
Advancements
There are a total of 20 new advancements in Mining but Stupid, these are in a new category made for the mod, and they are divided into 4 sections: Overworld, Nether, End, and Completionist (they aren't named that ingame, but they do have split paths in the advancement category) These can range from doing things like discovering amogusite or gadolinium, to things like having 10 You Win Blocks, or having two stacks of every infinislate variation (including slabs, stairs, and walls), so there's a LOT of content to go through.
Overall, Mining but Stupid adds a lot of funny content to the game, and it is worth it if you want a high-quality, balanced, half-joke mod to include. uhh.. have fun!
