🌋 PART 1: SUBTERRANEAN ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS

Deep underground (y<0y < 0y<0), the cavern environment is no longer static—it dynamically reacts to how and where you mine:

Hazard Nature & Mechanism Trigger / Detection Danger & Consequences
Methane Gas
(Explosive Gas Pocket)		 Colorless gas trapped in coal seams and deep stone pockets. Released when mining rock/ore. Emits a distinct pressurized hissing sound. Harmless to breathe, but highly flammable. Coming into contact with Torches, Flint & Steel, Lava, or Fire Arrows causes an instant catastrophic chain detonation.
Carbon Monoxide (CO)
(Invisible Asphyxiant)		 Heavy, completely invisible gas that settles in low elevation caverns (y<0y < 0y<0). Invisible to the naked eye. Detected only by a Miner's Canary or a Davy Lamp. Rapidly depletes the player's oxygen bar (like drowning in air). Once oxygen runs out, causes severe Mining Fatigue, blurred vision, and suffocation damage.
Sulfur Gas
(Corrosive Fumes)		 Yellow-green vapor venting from fissures near magma pools or deep rock. Billowing greenish-yellow particle clouds with a pungent sulfur smell. Inflicts Poison & Nausea, and rapidly corrodes the durability of iron tools and armor.
Thermobaric Coal Dust
(Explosive Particulates)		 Dense particulate clouds kicked up when breaking large coal veins. Bursts into a dark cloud when coal ore blocks are broken. Clogs and depletes gas mask filters twice as fast. If ignited by an open flame or spark, it causes a high-yield thermobaric dust explosion.
High-Pressure Aquifer
(Water Rock)		 Pressurized subterranean water pockets trapped within porous rock. Hidden inside pressurized rock layers (detected via sound resonance with the Geologist's Hammer). Rupturing the rock causes water to blast out at 3x normal flow velocity, violently pushing the player and extinguishing all open torch light.
Geothermal Steam Vent
(Scalding Eruption)		 Natural volcanic steam vents near deep magma pools. Cracked basalt craters with a glowing molten core. Periodically erupts scalding, high-pressure steam pillars, causing severe thermal burns and tossing players upward.
Unstable Deepslate
(Sinkholes & Cave Floors)		 Structurally compromised, hollow subterranean floor layers. Commonly generated when mining straight down (y<0y < 0y<0) or excavating without supports. Stepping on or mining these blocks causes an instant floor collapse (sinkhole), dropping the player into the abyss or lava below.
Cave-in Tremors
(Ceiling Collapse)		 Seismic shockwaves traveling through fractured cavern ceilings. Triggered after any methane blast, coal dust explosion, or aquifer rupture. Causes violent shaking and collapses jagged ceiling rocks directly onto the player's head, dealing heavy impact damage.

🛠️ PART 2: SPECIALIZED SURVIVAL EQUIPMENT & TOOLS

All tools and items feature detailed 3D voxel models (Blockbench-grade elements) and standard survival recipes:

1. 🐤 Miner's Canary (Canary Cage)

3D Model: A detailed brass bird cage with a dome, hanging ring, perch, and a modeled 3D canary bird inside (with distinct active and fainted postures).

How to Use: Hold in your Off-hand while exploring, or place it down on the floor as a warning post.

Early Warning: Scans a 15-block radius for Methane, Carbon Monoxide, and Sulfur. When gas is detected, the canary will chirp frantically and flutter its wings in alarm.

Fainting Mechanic: In lethal gas concentrations, the canary will faint and collapse. If your canary faints, you have only seconds to evacuate! Revive it by feeding it any seeds or bringing it back to the fresh surface air.

2. 🤿 Mining Respirator & Activated Carbon Filter

3D Model: Industrial gas mask featuring twin cheek filter canisters, convex glass lenses, exhalation valve, and head harness straps.

How to Use: Equip in your Helmet slot. A real-time HUD bar appears in the bottom corner showing remaining filter life.

Function: Completely neutralizes inhalation damage from CO gas, Sulfur fumes, and Coal Dust.

Cartridge System: The filter wears down over time. To reload, hold an Activated Carbon Filter (crafted from Paper + Charcoal) and right-click while wearing the mask to restore 100% filter capacity.

3. 🏮 Classic Davy Safety Lamp

3D Model: Sir Humphry Davy’s historic 1815 flame safety lamp, featuring a brass oil font, glass chamber, and flame-arresting wire gauze bonnet.

Safety Lighting: The gauze dissipates heat so the open flame will NEVER ignite explosive Methane gas.

Atmosphere Diagnostics (Flame Color Changes):

🔵 High Blue Flame Halo: Warning! High concentration of explosive Methane detected.

🔴 Flickering, Dying Flame: Severe oxygen depletion / Lethal Carbon Monoxide presence.

🟡 Greenish Flame Tint: Corrosive Sulfur fumes present.

🟢 Steady Warm Yellow Flame: Clear and safe subterranean air.

4. 🪓 Geologist's Hammer

3D Model: Dual-headed geological pick hammer with a steel hub, flat impact face, pointed pick shank, and wooden handle.

How to Use: Right-click on any solid rock face to tap it and listen to acoustic seismic reverberations:

"Gurgle...": High-pressure water cavitation or boiling magma pool directly behind the rock!

"Hollow drum echo...": Structurally hollow cavern floor—severe sinkhole risk!

"Hiss...": Compressed underground gas pocket resonance detected!

"Crisp metallic thud!": Solid, dense rock structure—safe to mine.

5. 🪖 Redstone Safety Mining Helmet

3D Model: Industrial hardhat with reinforced crown ridges and a forward-facing enclosed redstone diode lamp.

Features: 100% spark-free lighting that will never detonate Methane or Coal Dust. Automatically grants Night Vision while deep underground.

6. 🪵 Structural Pit Prop

3D Model: Heavy timber baulk column with upper and lower forged steel reinforcement collars.

How to Use: Place down along tunnel corridors while excavating.

Function: Absorbs 100% of Cave-in Tremors and seismic shockwaves, completely preventing ceiling rock collapses within a 10-block radius.

7. 💨 Industrial Ventilation Fan

3D Model: Industrial boxed casing, intake cowl, electric drive motor, angled fan blades, and safety grille.

How to Use: Mount in mining shafts and power with a Redstone signal (lever or redstone torch).

Function: Blows a continuous high-volume airstream that pushes back and disperses all Methane, CO, Sulfur, and Coal Dust clouds, keeping mining sectors safe.

8. 🧯 Mining Foam Extinguisher

3D Model: Red pressurized steel canister equipped with pressure gauge, lever handle, and discharge nozzle.

How to Use: Right-click to discharge a cone of high-pressure cooling chemical foam.

Function: Extinguishes fires, cools scalding geothermal steam vents, and instantly dispels hazardous gas pockets in emergency evacuations.
