Description
Mjöllnir
> Minecraft Fabric mod to avoid breaking tools!
You cannot break Thor's hammer!
Features
Mjöllnir is a mod to prevent tools from breaking during mining sessions, and also during attacks!
Among other things, weapons are not affected by this mod. It only concerns tools that can be crafted in different materials: pickaxes, axes, shovels and hoes.
That said, when attacking with one of these tools, its durability drops by 2!
So, any tool with a durability less than or equal to 2 will not be able to be used to attack! Keep that in mind to avoid unpleasant surprises!
During mining, the durability decreases by 1 per block.
But this is not instantly updated in the tool properties, so it is advisable to prevent mining of new blocks before reaching 1 durability, especially during instant-mining sessions!
(This setting is configurable.)
The mod is disabled in creative mode.
Installation & Dependencies
This mod is for clients only!
You need, of course, the Fabric launcher, the Fabric API, and to copy the ".jar" file into your mods folder.
(For default Windows installations, after running the game with the Fabric launcher at least once, just copy / paste this into the path bar of any Explorer window to open the mod folder: %appdata%\.minecraft\mods — and press Enter.)
You also need the Cloth Config API for Fabric,
and it's highly recommended to install Mod Menu as well, to be able to configure Mjöllnir.
Configuration
In the General tab, you can:
- Enable or disable the entire mod (it is of course active by default)
- Choose the durability limit at which the mod prevents from mining new blocks (2 by default, as mentioned above it is not recommended to set it to 1)
In the other tabs, you can define for each tool (and for each material) whether the mod must prevent its use when the durability limit is reached.
It is possible to activate this protection for:
- Renamed tools only,
- Enchanted tools only,
- Both (renamed OR enchanted tools),
- All tools,
- None of the tools!
By default, all renamed tools are systematically protected, and all diamond and netherite tools are also protected.
Miscellaneous
This mod is translated in English and French.
You are free to use this mod in any modpacks you'd make.
I don't plan to adapt it for another modloader than Fabric.
Please take a look at the current issues board to see what is likely to happen sooner or later!
If you want to manage all items with durability, I recommend the Tweakeroo mod instead of Mjöllnir — enable its "Swap Almost Broken Tools" option!
Hope you'll find this mod usefull! ♥ Also, feel free to take a look at my other mods!
