Mo' Creatures Port
No reviews yet
Original by DrZharky. I ported it because the mod was abandoned and I wanted to play it on newer versions. This is a fan-made, non-profit project made out of love for the mod. It's ~90% complete. Please report bugs or missing features.
Includes genetic manipulation and biological systems.
Neoforge is a fork of the Minecraft Forge available for versions 1.20.1+ of Minecraft. Many Forge mods are compatible with Neoforge and vice versa.

Mo'Creatures
Minecraft 1.21.1 · NeoForge
Original mod by DrZhark · Port to 1.21.1 / NeoForge by PedroPH19
All Mo' Creatures monsters now have support to spawn in modded biomes.
Tameable Manticore — the egg now hatches into an already tamed manticore. It is a flying mount (40 HP, 7 damage), accepts saddles and chests, takes no fall damage, comes in four coat variations (fire, shadow, snow, and green), and cannot breed.
Horse Amulets — adding Bone, Ghost, Fairy, and Sky amulets. They store tamed horses while preserving their appearance, equipment, owner, and age, while also freeing up space within the creature limit.
Magic Effects — undead horses emit soul smoke, Nightmares leave lava trails, and Unicorns and Fairy Horses leave behind barriers.
Ghost Felines — tamed big cats have a 25% chance of returning as translucent ghosts with the same appearance and owner. Ghosts do not spawn other ghosts.
Ogre Lair Blocks — seven new decorative blocks inspired by the ogre lair.
Fixes
Scorpion — babies now appear correctly on the mother's back and only spawn when she is defeated. Also fixed incorrect torso rotation.
Horses — apples now only tame; breeding requires specific items, takes time, and does not occur if other horses are nearby. Magical horses use essences, while wheat, apples, and sugar once again restore health.
Wyvern — the saddle now displays correctly, and the ground animation has been adjusted.
Rabbit — head movement during jumps fixed.
Aquatic creatures — now thrash, suffocate, and die when out of water, instead of remaining alive indefinitely.
Mo'Creatures
The world feels empty. Let's fix that.
Mo'Creatures fills Minecraft with over fifty creatures, each with its own way of being found, tamed, raised and ridden. Big cats stalk you at night. Wyverns circle overhead. A scorpion mother carries her brood on her back. Somewhere in the sky there's a horse that only exists because you bred two others and they both vanished making it.
This is DrZhark's classic mod, rebuilt for Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge.

Taming is not one button
Every species wants something different, and the mod tells you what:
• Bait food — melon for a turtle, seeds for a bird, wheat for a goat, raw fish for a kitty, raw meat for a big-cat cub
• The Medallion — a reusable gold-and-redstone charm for everything with no bait of its own
• Patience — a dolphin has to be fed until it trusts you; an elephant needs about five sugar lumps
• Bare hands — some creatures you simply pick up
Craft the CreaturePedia and every one of these rules is written down in-game, so you never have to leave for a wiki.
Horses are a whole mod on their own
Twenty base coats that cross-breed into new ones. Zebras that bolt unless you approach them on a good enough horse. Donkeys, mules, zonkeys.
Then it gets strange. Essences transform a grown, tamed horse:
• Fire turns a zorse into a Nightmare that leaves flame in its hoofprints
• Darkness makes a Bat Horse, or turns a pegasus dark
• Light raises a Nightmare into a Unicorn — and turns a Bat Horse into a Pegasus, but only above y=128
• Undead starts a horse decaying toward its skeleton form
Breed a Unicorn with a Pegasus and you get a Fairy Horse — but both parents disappear to make it. Fairy horses come in twelve colours and can be re-dyed.
Horses don't breed on a whim, either. Feed each of a pair a pumpkin, mushroom stew, cake or golden carrot, keep other horses away, and wait — a foal takes real time. Horse Amulets let you capture bone, ghost, fairy and pegasus horses and carry them in your pocket.
The Wyvern Lair
Craft a Staff of Portal and right-click to step into a dark realm of drifting islands where wyverns rule. Twelve wyvern breeds live there. Take one's egg, hatch it, raise it, saddle it — and you have a flying mount that carries a chest.
Right-click the staff again at the quartz portal to come home. The Staff of Teleport blinks you wherever you're looking.
Eggs, drops and gear
• Snakes, komodos, pet scorpions and wyverns drop an egg when killed — that egg is how you get a tame one
• Manticores never tame. The wild one only ever drops its egg, and the egg hatches one already yours
• Kill a scorpion mother and her brood scatters — the only source of pet scorpions
• Craft armour and swords from chitin and scorpion stings (four elemental sets), plus fur, hide and reptile hide armour
• Whips command your pets, Pet Amulets and Fish Nets carry them, Scrolls free them or transfer ownership
Installation
1. Install NeoForge 21.1.234 or newer for Minecraft 1.21.1
2. Drop the jar in your mods folder
3. Both client and server
About this port
This is a faithful port, not a remake. Behaviour was rebuilt against the original 12.0.5 source so that creatures act the way you remember — the same taming rules, the same breeding genetics, the same drop tables.
Not everything is in yet. Currently missing:
• Kitty furniture (KittyBed / LitterBox) and the cat breeding cycle that depends on them
• The Ogre Lair structure (the ogre blocks exist; the dungeon generation does not)
• Wyvern Lair floating towers and the twin-suns sky
• A handful of ambient details from the original
These are being worked on. Bug reports are genuinely useful — please include your NeoForge version and what you were doing.
Credits
• DrZhark — creator of Mo'Creatures. This mod is his; the port only moves it forward a few Minecraft versions.
• PedroPH19 — 1.21.1 / NeoForge port.
