About

Description

Baby Mobs!

These little Moblets!....

They’re smaller.

They’re faster.

and some...more annoying.

Moblets! adds juvenile versions of familiar Minecraft mobs that feel like they actually belong in the game. Creepers, Endermen, Witches, Skeletons, Pillagers, Golems, Wandering Traders, Camel Husks and more can show up in baby form — with custom proportions, behavior tweaks, and special encounters.

Some hit weaker.
Some move faster.
Some spawn with tiny friends.
Some are just absolute chaos.

And now...

SOME ARE TAMEABLE!!!

New: Moblet Companions

Now Configure-able!

Added v0.6.0:
Tameable - Endermen Moblets!, Baby Zombies
Moblet spawn eggs
Endermen Moblets! can wear helments, Baby Zombies can wear full armor
Certain melee Moblets! can carry different "weapons" (axes, shovels, etc.)

Several hostile Moblets can now be tamed and turned into actual companions.

They aren't just reskinned wolves, either.

Skeleton Family

Skeletons, Strays, Bogged, and Parched become ranged companions.

Tell them to Follow and they'll travel and fight with you.

Tell them to Stay and they'll defend their position like little sentries.

They can equip enchanted bows, wear armor, heal, and are far more useful than the tiny inaccurate menace you originally found wandering around.

Wither Skeletons

Wither Skeleton Moblets skipped the archery lessons.

They're dedicated melee guards that use swords (equipable) and protect either you or an assigned position.

Creepers

Yes.

You can tame the baby Creeper.

Tamed Creepers become explosive bodyguards.

Their defensive explosions:

  • Hurt hostile mobs
  • Don't hurt players
  • Don't hurt other tamed Moblets
  • Don't hurt passive mobs
  • Don't destroy terrain
  • Don't kill the Creeper

After exploding, they retreat and need some time before they're ready to do it again.

You can also put a helmet on them.

Safety first.

Pillagers

Baby Pillagers become crossbow companions.

They can follow you into combat or hold a position as ranged sentries while trying to keep a useful distance from whatever they're shooting.

Witches

The Witch Moblet! has decided fighting is beneath her.

In Follow mode, she's a support companion.

If you drop below half health, she'll throw you a highly accurate Splash Potion of Instant Health II.

If something attacks her directly?

She runs.

Put her in Stay and she becomes a wandering potion merchant instead.

Witch Merchant Ranks:

Hedge Witch → Cauldron Keeper → Hexbinder → Coven Elder → High Witch

Trading with her unlocks more trades as she progresses through:

Every promotion expands her shop.

Follow or Stay

Tamed Moblets can be ordered to Follow or Stay, but the command means something different depending on the Moblet.

A Skeleton becomes a sentry.

A Wither Skeleton becomes a guard.

A Creeper defends its area explosively.

A Witch opens up shop.

Wandering Trader Moblets! are Still Terrible at Business

The baby Wandering Trader still travels with Wandering Trader caravans and his two baby llamas.

And he still has his own interpretation of commerce.

He'll approach nearby players and throw out items from his available trades.

If you take one, congratulations:

You owe him.

He'll follow you around until you throw him something in return.

Any deliberately thrown item counts as payment.

Yes, he may give you something valuable and accept dirt.

He is doing his best.

Special Encounters

Moblets! aren't limited to random spawns.

You'll run into:

  • Baby Pillagers at Pillager Outposts
  • Baby Iron Golems in villages
  • Baby Snow Golem companions
  • Baby Wandering Traders with baby llamas
  • Baby Camel Husk riders

Some Moblets! are uncommon.

Some show up where you'd expect them.

And some show up exactly where you wish they hadn't.

Existing Moblet! Personalities

The original Moblets! haven't lost what made them annoying in the first place.

Creeper Moblets!

They panic when you look directly at them, defuse, and run away.

Skeleton Moblets!

They're curious about wolves.

Until a wolf bites them.

Then they learn.

Enderman Moblets!

They don't attack players.

They steal dropped items instead.

And then run away with them.

Taming

Different Moblets require different items and have different taming chances.

There is no universal Moblet treat.

They tame with the item they desire most...and they'll let you know if they see it in your hand.

  • Skeleton — The little guy needs string for his tiny bow
  • Stray — He's cold and wants some Rabbit Hide for his coat
  • Bogged — The tiny swamp demon loves his mushrooms
  • Parched — Duh...he's thirsty.  Give him a water bottle or two
  • Wither Skeleton — They like Nether Wart...who knew.
  • Creeper — He's a big fan of fireworks
  • Pillager — The greedy toddler can't resist gold ingots
  • Witch — Needs Fermented Spider Eyes for her evil plans
  • Enderman - Quite curious of Amethyst Shards
  • Baby Zombie - They love some Raw Chicken

Each tameable mob can also be quickly healed with certain items

  • Skeleton - Bones (obviously)
  • Stray - Also Bones
  • Bogged - Yep...Bones
  • Parched - You guessed it...it's Bones
  • Wither Skeleton - Nether star...just kidding...it's also Bones
  • Creeper - Gunpowder.  Gotta reload.
  • Pillager - Gold Nuggets.  His greed is all that heals.
  • Witch - Redstone, believe it or not.
  • Enderman - Glowing Ink Sac (weird right?)
  • Baby Zombie - RAW FLESH!

Taming is accomplished by holding the desired item in hand and letting the little guy come up to you.  Right click the Moblet! and wait to see if he accepts your trade.  It may take a few tries...so stock up before you attempt to tame.

Healing is also done by simply right clicking on your Moblet! with the healing item in hand.  Shift+Right Click (with item) will inspect its HP without consuming the item.

Armor is applied just like you would on an armor stand.  To remove the armor completely, Shift+Right Click, with an empty hand, works.  Only applicable to Moblets! that can wear armor.  (All skeletons and Creeper [helmet only])

Multiplayer

Moblets supports:

  • Fabric
  • NeoForge
  • Forge

Install it on the server and participating clients.

Fabric installations also require Fabric API.

TL:DR

They used to just be tiny.

Now some of them can come home with you.

And yes...

the baby Creeper still explodes.
