Description
Modular Backpacks Compat
Modular Backpacks Compat improves interoperability between Modular Backpacks and several popular inventory, accessory, farming, and food-quality mods.
Features
- Restores a visible Curios button on the Modular Backpacks screen for quick access to the accessory inventory.
- Removes the extra screen fade and flicker when closing a backpack or switching directly to the Curios screen.
- Displays Vercte's Satchels GUI layers correctly on top of the Modular Backpacks GUI.
- Expands farming pot output storage:
- Regular farming pots: 3 output slots -> 6 output slots.
- Gilded farming pots: 6 output slots -> 9 output slots.
- Uses Modular Backpacks' original GUI layout logic so the enlarged farming pot screens remain aligned with the in-game panel behavior.
- Adds third-party seed support for farming pots.
- Recognizes crops using Minecraft's normal plant-to-seed behavior, including
CropBlock#getBaseSeedIdand block clone items, instead of relying on item-name conventions. - Supports third-party growable and bonemealable crop blocks when their seed can be identified by the game.
- Generates mature crop drops for automatically detected third-party plants.
- Integrates with Quality Food:
- Seed quality is transferred to farming pot results.
- Soil can add an extra chance for quality results.
- Adds configurable soil growth speed and quality bonuses.
- Adds optional manual seed-to-output mappings for unusual crops that cannot expose a seed automatically.
Configuration
The common configuration file is:
config/modular_backpacks_compat-common.toml
Soil effects use this format:
soil_effects = ["farmersdelight:rich_soil;1.5;0.10"]
The fields are:
soil_item_id;growth_speed_multiplier;quality_chance_bonus
For example, 1.5 makes the farming pot finish in two-thirds of its normal time, while 0.10 adds 10 percentage points to the quality chance when Quality Food is installed.
Optional seed mappings use this format:
seed_mappings = ["example:seed;example:crop;1;1"]
The fields are:
seed_item_id;output_item_id;minimum_count;maximum_count
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.21.1 (required)
- NeoForge 21.1.248 or a compatible NeoForge 21.1.x version (required)
The following integrations are optional. Each feature is enabled only when the corresponding mod is installed:
- Modular Backpacks 0.2.11: farming pot support and backpack GUI integration.
- Curios 9.5.x: the Curios button and fade-free screen transition.
- Quality Food 2.3.x: seed quality inheritance and quality bonuses from soil.
- Vercte's Satchels 1.2.x: Satchels GUI layering, synchronization, and automatic item insertion.
None of the four integration mods above is a mandatory dependency. Without Modular Backpacks, this addon loads safely but has no target-specific features to apply.
This is a compatibility addon. It does not replace the original Modular Backpacks GUI or farming pot system.
