Description

Modular Origins

Requires the Origins Mod to work.

This addon/datapack reworks the origins mod to allow you to combine two races, each giving you unique powers.

Unlike vanilla origins these barely have any negative powers, making it more akin to a classic RPG race selection. Upon first joining a world you will be able to pick a Major and a Minor origin.

Major origins usually grant you active powers and change your heart colour while Minor origins usually provide passive benefits.

Each origin has a Signature ability associated with it. They are independent from whether you picked an Origin as Major/Minor, you always gain them. Signature abilities can be upgraded by either defeating the Enderdragon or picking the same origin twice. This gives pure Origin builds an early advantage, but hybrid builds will be more powerful later on.

The origins are not balanced for PvP at all. I also recommend a mod that makes getting to the End harder (like End Remastered) to make pure Origins worth it. I don't recommend allowing players to freely get Orbs of Origin, especially if they already upgraded their Signature ability.

Currently this addon adds 9 Origins:

If you dislike the custom healthbars (they tend to overwrite texture packs) or just want a datapack version you can download that here..Note that this doesn't support the custom healthbars, for that you will have to use Resource Packs. They can be downloaded here. Just extract the zip and move the folder of your race to you Resource Pack Folder.

The Resource Pack can also be used when using the mod version, allowing you to change to another race's status bar.

Credit for most of the healthbars goes to thedeaddandy
