About

Description

Enjoy the traditional sweetener in minecraft! Molasses Mod adds a new sticky resource to Minecraft with unique mechanics and expanded crafting options. The goal of the mod is to enhance food production, potion brewing, and redstone creativity without overwhelming the vanilla experience.

Molasses is created by smoking beetroots in a smoker. Once obtained, it can be used in place of sugar for all standard crafting recipes. This provides an alternative progression path and adds more value to beetroot farms.

A bucket of molasses allows players to place liquid molasses in the world. This fluid slows down anything that walks through it, making it useful for traps, mob control, and defense. It has a thick, heavy consistency and behaves differently from water or lava.

Solid molasses also exists as a block. The block slows players and mobs when stepped on, making it ideal for containment structures or environmental hazards. Molasses blocks can be pushed by pistons but they cannot be pulled making them behave differently from most pushable blocks.

The mod also introduces a new potion effect called Binding. This effect slows movement and enhances attack speed, damage and the safe fall distance.

Molasses Mod is designed to integrate smoothly into any modpack by adding fresh mechanics, new crafting possibilities, and additional utility to underused vanilla items.
