More Strongholds
More Strongholds increases the number of naturally generated Strongholds in your world by modifying the Stronghold structure set placement.
Unlike vanilla’s ring-based distribution, this datapack uses random spread placement, allowing Strongholds to generate naturally throughout the world rather than forming concentric bands around spawn.
The result is a world with more Strongholds than vanilla, evenly distributed and spaced to avoid excessive overlap or underground clutter.
Features
- Uses random spread placement instead of concentric rings
- Generates more Strongholds than vanilla
- Balanced spacing to reduce structure overlap
- Designed to preserve reliable portal room generation
- Affects newly generated chunks only
Existing chunks will not retroactively gain new Strongholds.
Compatibility
This datapack modifies only the Stronghold structure set.
Any datapack or mod that also edits the Stronghold structure set may conflict.
For best results, use on a new world, or explore into newly generated terrain to see the changes.
Configuration
All placement values are defined in the Stronghold structure set JSON file included in the pack.
If you prefer a different density or distribution style, you can adjust the placement values to suit your world.
