Description
This is my first mod.
=Intro=
The mortar and pestle is a simple set of tools that unlocks new crafting recipes to the player - from making wheat into flour, cobblestone to gravel to sand, to increasing the product yield of certain crops, the mortar and pestle is always a relevant tool.
=Features=
The features in this mod mostly involve increasing the yield of crops and converting earthen materials into finer counterparts. There are also a 2 new food items that can be made (and that require the mortar and pestle to make to some degree). There is also a new plant that randomly spawns on the surface of the world that can be made into a healing item when harvested.
Feature List:
Items:
Mortar and Pestle:
The titular item of the mod. It has a durability of 128, and loses 1 each time it is crafted with.
Flour/Flour Bag:
Wheat can be made into flour using a Mortar and Pestle. Bread can be made using only 2 flour, effectively reducing the cost of bread by 50%! If you made too much flour (or you just can't wait to make your wheat into it) you can combine 9 to made a bag for storage.
Herb:
A special plant drop that, when mashed and cooked, can be made into an item that grants Regeneration. Obtained from a plant that spawns in most biomes.
Sulfur:
Pinches are crafted from sand and a Mortar and Pestle. Combine pinches to make a full pile that can be made into gunpowder!
Food:
Dried Herbs:
Mashed and cooked herbs. Doesn't provide any hunger when eaten, but will grant Regeneration 1 for 30 seconds.
Superfood:
Made by combining a variety of food items, the result is a food item that eats faster than normal and fully restores your hunger and saturation. For endgame players who have access to several food sources but are left wanting more.
Omnimeal:
The end-all of foods. The Omnimeal is expensive, even requiring certain non-food items and a Superfood to create. Has similar properties to the Superfood, but cannot be stacked. Upon consumption, you are granted a variety of positive potion effects:
Nightvision
Absorption V
Water Breathing
Strength II
Resistance II
Regeneration II
Haste II
Fire Resistance
All of the above potion effects last for 5 minutes.
Due to the exceptional cost of a single Omnimeal, be sure to make it count when you use it.
Crafting Recipes:
Mortar and Pestle + Components:
The Mortar and Pestle is two separate pieces that much be crafted individually before being combined. Unlike the final tool, its two components can be stacked to 64, letting you store them for later when you break the one you're using.
More Efficient Crafting:
Besides flour being more efficient for producing bread, you can also combine the Mortar and Pestle with sugarcane, bones, or blaze rods to increase the yield of their processed items (sugar, bonemeal, and blaze powder, respectively).
You can also combine the Mortar and Pestle with a block of glowstone to obtain all 4 glowstone dust items without the need of a fortune pickaxe.
Stone Crushing and Dirt Making:
By combining cobblestone with the Mortar and Pestle, you can obtain gravel. Doing the same with gravel gives you sand.
Combining sand, bonemeal, the Mortar and Pestle, and any flower will result in dirt.
World Gen:
Herb Plants:
These plants will spawn anywhere on the surface, as long as there's grass. They blend in with tall grass, so keen eye out for them!
Breaking these plants will make them drop their herb item. Using shears will make it drop itself, instead. Additionally, using bonemeal will give you a duplicate of the plant, similar to double-tall flowers!
