🐭 Mouse Invasion

Squeak squeak! Mice are sneaking into your builds, and they're hungry.

Build anything, from a dirt hut to a giant castle. Mice will find it, move in, raid your chests and nibble your crops. Fight back with Mouse Traps, Cheese and cats!

🏠 Mice invade every build

  • Any block counts. Every block you place adds to your build, no matter what block it is. Once a build has 8 or more blocks, mice can move in.
  • Old builds and structures count too. A structure finder quietly looks around you for built blocks like planks, bricks, glass, doors, torches and chests. Villages, temples, mineshafts and your old builds from before you added the mod all get invaded.
  • Every 15 seconds, builds near you can get new mice. Bigger builds get more mice, up to 8 per build. Mice like to sneak inside, under a roof.

🧀 Mouse Traps and Cheese

  • Craft a Mouse Trap: put 2 sticks with an iron ingot between them on the top row, and 3 planks on the bottom row. You get 3 traps.
  • Craft Cheese from 1 milk bucket. You get 4 cheese and the bucket back.
  • Right-click a trap with Cheese to bait it. Mice can smell the cheese from 12 blocks away and run straight onto it... SNAP!
  • Even a trap without cheese catches mice that wander within 3 blocks.
  • Right-click a snapped trap to set it again.
  • Your traps keep count of how many mice you've caught.
  • Watch your step! Walking onto a trap hurts. Sneak to walk over traps safely.
  • Mice follow you when you hold Cheese, and you can eat it too.

🌾 Mice are pests

  • Mice eat the food out of chests and barrels near them.
  • Mice nibble your crops back down to tiny sprouts.
  • Mice run away from players, and they drop Cheese or String when they die.

🐈 Cats hunt mice

Cats and ocelots chase down mice and pounce on them. Tame a cat to protect your house!

🎁 Starter kit

The first time you join a world, you get 3 Mouse Traps and 4 Cheese to get you started.

📦 Installation

  1. Install Fabric Loader for Minecraft 26.3.
  2. Download Fabric API and put it in your mods folder.
  3. Put Mouse Invasion in your mods folder too.
  4. Start Minecraft with the Fabric profile and go build something... if you dare.

Needs: Minecraft Java Edition 26.3, Fabric Loader 0.19.5 or newer, and Fabric API.
