Description
The World Is Listening The World Is Listening is a subtle, atmospheric Minecraft mod that makes the world quietly respond to how you play.
Your actions are not forgotten. Over time, the world observes player behavior and builds an awareness of how it is being treated, reacting in small, indirect ways rather than loud or scripted events.
This mod is designed to feel vanilla-adjacent: slow, low-frequency changes that become noticeable over long survival playthroughs.
World Awareness System The mod tracks player behavior and accumulates four hidden world awareness values:
Aggression Increased by fighting, killing mobs (especially passive mobs), and violent behavior.
Greed Increased by excessive mining and deep resource extraction.
Restlessness Increased by staying awake at night and avoiding sleep.
Destruction Increased by damaging the surface, breaking plants, crops, moss, and other natural blocks.
Every ~10 seconds, these values are gently adjusted based on recent actions. All values decay slowly over time, meaning the world can calm down if the player changes how they behave.
How the World Responds As awareness values rise, the world begins to react in subtle ways:
Aggression Hostile mobs may gain small boosts to follow range or movement speed Ambient cave sounds may play more frequently Greed Ores can occasionally downgrade into stone or deepslate Certain cave plants and flora may decay over time Restlessness Nights can last slightly longer Phantom rest timers may advance more quickly Destruction Surface blocks, crops, plants, moss, and vegetation can wither or decay over time None of these effects are instant, extreme, or constant. They occur slowly, at low frequency, and are meant to shape atmosphere rather than punish the player.
Design Philosophy No jump scares No sudden difficulty spikes No visible meters or UI The world doesn’t attack you. It responds.
If you slow down, rest, respect the land, and change your habits, the world gradually recovers as well.
Features Tracks player behavior over time Four independent world awareness values Subtle environmental and mob-based reactions Slow decay and low-frequency updates Designed for long-term survival worlds Lightweight and non-intrusive
