Description
Features: Ever wonder why endermites even exist in the game other than being annoying? This datapack/server-side mod makes three changes to them that may help with that:
-
Endermites don't automatically disappear 2 minutes after being created. However, they will still despawn like regular hostile mobs unless given a nametag.
-
Every minute, if an endermite is standing on an obsidian block while
mobGriefingis enabled, that block will have a 20% chance of turning into crying obsidian. This provides a renewable method of farming crying obsidian that doesn't require piglin bartering. -
When an amethyst shard is dropped near an endermite, the endermite will consume it, and will have a 10% chance of duplicating/creating another endermite (similar to allays). Since endermites drop 3 XP when killed by the player, this is effectively a way to convert amethyst shards into XP (10 amethyst shards = 3 XP).
You can configure these chances, or comment out functions you don't like, by editing the datapack.
Compatibility: This datapack is compatible with everything. However, if another mod/datapack changes an endermite's Lifetime data, this datapack's functionality will overwrite it.
Uninstalling: This datapack is safe to remove or add at any time.
