Description
MultiForge Debug Client
Live in-world visualisation for MultiForge servers. Folia-style regionised multithreaded drop-in replacement for the NeoForge dedicated server.
Install this mod on your NeoForge client and activate the hotkey to see what a MultiForge server is doing under the hood. MultiForge is a drop-in NeoForge replacement, so any NeoForge client can connect without this mod.
What it shows
- F3-style HUD. A live three-line status block: server build/protocol/tick rate, region count and estimated TPS, worst region's p95 MSPT, count of recent ownership/reroute warnings.
- Chunk-border renderer. Coloured borders around every chunk, coded by region ownership — see exactly where one worker's region ends and the next begins.
- Tick-cost heatmap. Per-chunk overlay coloured by how expensive the chunk was to tick. Spot mob farms and entity swarms eating one worker's tick budget.
- Region-pin renderer. When an op has locked region boundaries with
/multiforge region pin …, the pinned rectangle is drawn as a labelled box in the world.
How it activates
Auto-connects to any MultiForge v1.3.14+ server that advertises the multiforge:debug/v1 channel. Sends a SUBSCRIBE handshake on join; all overlays fill in within one second.
Stays completely inert on stock NeoForge servers — the channel is OPTIONAL, so connecting to any NeoForge 1.21.1 server always succeeds. Safe to keep in your mods/ folder permanently.
Controls
Press F6 (remappable under Options → Controls → MultiForge Debug) to toggle every overlay on/off at once. Chat shows MultiForge overlays: on/off as feedback.
Requirements
- NeoForge 21.1.90 or newer (tested against 21.1.249)
- Java 21
Compatibility
- Any NeoForge 1.21.1 mod loadout — this mod adds one payload channel and a handful of render event handlers, nothing that would collide with other mods.
- Works alongside JEI, Sodium, shader mods, and any other client mod.
- No client-side config file to edit.
License
GPL-3.0-only. Free software. No token, no activation, no phone-home.
