About

Description

**Myriad Soul Banner** is a NeoForge mod built around the core cycle of **"Soul Capturing – Soul Commanding – Resentment Suppression"**. Players can craft and bind a soul banner, collect three types of souls by slaying hostile creatures, and unlock different primary soul techniques. The greater the power, the harder the resentment within the banner becomes to control.

## Core Gameplay

The first time a player uses the Myriad Soul Banner, it becomes bound to them. Once bound, the banner cannot be transferred. Its growth data persists through death, relogging, server restarts, and crossing dimensions.

While holding the banner, right-click a hostile mob to apply a **Soul-Capture Mark** that lasts 10 seconds. While the mark is active, the banner owner must have personally dealt damage to the target and witness its death within **24 blocks** and in the **same dimension**; after that, even if the environment or a teammate delivers the final blow, the soul capture can be resolved.

Mobs are categorized into three soul types based on their kind:

- **Corpse Souls**: correspond to the Corpse King Spirit.
- **Bone Souls**: correspond to the Bone General Spirit.
- **Blast Souls**: correspond to the Blast Soul Essence.

When the banner accumulates **100 Soul Count**, it advances to a **Hundred Soul Banner**; at **1000 Soul Count**, it becomes a **Thousand Soul Banner**.

## Primary Souls and Bound Souls

By default, the banner can command the **Corpse King Spirit**. After accumulating at least **20** of the corresponding soul type, the **Bone General Spirit** and **Blast Soul Essence** can be unlocked respectively.

- **Corpse King Spirit**: Summons a melee bound soul to attack enemies and provides minor regeneration to the banner owner.
- **Bone General Spirit**: Fires a single-target ranged bone soul projectile.
- **Blast Soul Essence**: Deals area-of-effect damage and knocks back nearby enemies.

Bound souls will not attack the banner owner, allied players, or friendly tamed creatures. The number of bound souls active at the same time for each player is limited, with a default maximum of **6**.

## Soul Power and Resentment

Casting techniques consumes **Soul Power** and accumulates **Resentment**. Soul Power slowly regenerates automatically, but Resentment does not dissipate on its own.

By default:
- At **50** Resentment, the souls within the banner become **restless**.
- At **80** Resentment, they enter a **dangerous** state.
- At **100** Resentment, a **backlash** triggers: the banner owner takes damage and all currently active bound souls are cleared.

Players can manage Resentment using the **Soul Altar**:
- **Normal right-click** on the Soul Altar: Consume **3 experience** levels, reduce Resentment by **10**.
- **Sneak + right-click** on the Soul Altar: Release **10 Soul Count**, reduce Resentment by **20**.

## Controls

- **Right-click** a hostile mob: Apply the Soul-Capture Mark.
- **Right-click** in the air: Switch to Bound Soul mode, or cast the current primary soul technique.
- **Sneak + Right-click**: Switch between Soul Capturing / Bound Soul mode, or cycle through unlocked primary souls.
- Press **B**: Open the Myriad Soul Banner interface to view Soul Count, Soul Power, Resentment, the three soul reserves, and primary soul status.
- Press **M**: Switch the primary soul.
- Press **Tab**: Toggle between Soul Capturing and Bound Soul modes.
- **Right-click** a **Soul-Luring Scroll**: Open the in-game guidebook *Soul-Luring Record*, which explains crafting, binding, soul capturing, and the Soul Altar.

## Items and Blocks

The mod adds the **Myriad Soul Banner**, **Soul-Luring Scroll**, **Soul Ink**, **Spirit Vessel**, **Soul-Suppressing Nail**, and **Soul Altar**, among others. The Soul Altar is crafted from **obsidian, crying obsidian, soul sand, and two Soul-Suppressing Nails**, and is a crucial facility for managing Resentment.

The core crafting materials for the Myriad Soul Banner include the **Soul-Luring Scroll, Soul Ink, Spirit Vessel, and Soul-Suppressing Nail**.
- **Soul Ink** is crafted from an **ink sac, glow ink sac, and soul sand**.
- The **Spirit Vessel** is crafted from a **glass bottle and an amethyst shard**.
