About
Description
Magic Mayhem is a magic mod centered around spell scrolls, spellcasting and creativity. In order to make this mod as appealing as possible to players by making spells as versatile as possible. Throw your opponents, move around quickly, cast powerfull spells and wear unique outfits.
Currently Magic Mayhem has 39 unique spells, 3 unique armor sets and 3 unique spellfocusses.
How the mod works :
Spells are obtained from spellscrolls.
Spellscrolls can be crafted.
Spellbooks can store a spell in order to be used multiple times in exchange for mana.
Spellcasting is made possible by wearing magic armor to increase your mana and mana regeneration capacities as well as some other spellcasting modifiers.
The mana bar and spells are hidden by default to clutter the HUD less for people who dont want to play as a spellcaster, see keybinds for the toggle button.
Forge?
- probably not
Notes:
- **This mod REQUIRES geckolib to run properly : **
This mod adds a way for you to cast a wide plethra of spells, outfits and (hopefully) fun!
The main difference between this mod and most magic mods i've played with is it's pvp. I wanted to avoid having the mod boil down to wearing armor and equipment of "+5% damage to this specific spell-type" and instead lean more into the resource management and creative problem solving side of the class
Spells are aquired by crafting spellscrolls and putting them on your spellbook with a spell-table. Mana is tied to your armor and each armor set is supports a specific playstyle.
I wont go over the full spellist because there are 38 of them at this current moment so i am just going over the main ones i really found fun to make and play with.
- Alchemist's brew
When casting this spell, your consumable item (food, drinkable potions and throwable potions) will be used but without consuming the item! Instead, you have to "supplement" the material cost with mana from your reserves. Each item has a different cost depending on food, saturation, effect duration and effect amplification so you will be able to duplicate your carrots for way cheaper then your golden apples.
- Telekinesis
Cast this spell on an entity and congratulations! You can now move them around to your heart's content, just hold them in place or even throw them!
- Fireball
Can't having a magic mod without the classic fireball. Almost all explosions in this mod work differently from conventional ones, first of all there is no distance dropoff or "sweet spot" it either hits, or it doesn't. If an opponent is within range but standing behind blocks they still take half the original damage.
- Arcane sigil
Cast this spell around your base to boobytrap it from possible invaders, griefers or neighbors who can't seem to take "no" for an answer. Be carefull though to not get caught up in the blast!
- Stasis
Suspend yourself in midair with an magic shield protecting you, while casting this spell, all incoming damage is negated, ignored and tanked. However you cannot do anything else while this spell is active so be carefull when using this. (ps, armor damage still occurs)
