AHU Compatibility Layer

AHU Compatibility Layer is the required integration and stability mod for the A Hero Unmade modpack for Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge.

It is not a standalone content mod. It contains pack-specific compatibility patches, progression data, gameplay rules, and stability fixes that make A Hero Unmade’s core mods work together as one intended experience.

What it does:

• Keeps multiplayer race selection stable and ensures players begin in the intended Human Tensura progression.
• Prevents broken or unwanted Tensura race-reset behavior, active abilities, ability menus, and related controls that conflict with the pack’s progression.
• Preserves supported passive Tensura effects while keeping Iron’s Spells ’n Spellbooks as the pack’s primary magic system.
• Provides the pack’s custom skill progression data with Puffish skills, specialization branches, story advancements, and progression support.
• Prevents conflicts between Genetics: Resequenced tools and entities added by the many creature mods in the pack.
• Adds compatibility safeguards for Goety, MCA, StatMod, Iron’s Spells add-ons, Epic Fight, and other A Hero Unmade integrations.
• Fixes known client and multiplayer stability issues, including Epic Fight animation crashes during joining, first-person rendering, and Tensura HUD player rendering.
• Makes optional integrations fail safely when a supported companion mod or optional class is absent.
• Includes pack-specific loot, recipe, UI, interaction, and quality-of-life corrections.

Important

This mod is built specifically for the exact mod set, configurations, datapacks, and intended rules of A Hero Unmade.

Do not add it to a random modpack. It expects A Hero Unmade’s supported mod versions and can cause missing dependency errors, mixin failures, broken progression, or crashes outside of that environment.

Install the same AHU Compatibility Layer version on the host and every joining player. For multiplayer, all players should use the same A Hero Unmade release and matching configuration files.
