NEST Core

NEST Core is the pack-specific integration mod for NEST. It connects selected systems and fixes targeted issues in the versions used by the pack.

What it does

• Keeps acorn equipment repair working with the resource selected by NEST, integrating Critters and Companions with Paws & Claws.
• Corrects specific generated building texture animation metadata and empty chiseling recipe entries.
• Records actual cooking-pot result collection and successful potion bottling for NEST tutorial quests. Merely receiving the finished item does not count as performing these operations.
• Routes language resources according to the pack configuration. The separate NEST translation resource pack is not included in this mod.

For players: install the complete NEST modpack. NEST Core is intended for use with its matching pack configuration, not as a standalone gameplay mod.

Requirements and scope

For Minecraft 1.20.1 on Forge. This release requires Critters and Companions 2.7.1 and Paws & Claws. Other targeted integrations apply to the versions pinned by NEST; this is not a universal compatibility patch for arbitrary mod combinations. Upstream updates require fresh testing.

The internal mod ID remains nest_resource_compat for continuity with existing NEST configurations. NEST Core does not add standalone content, grant quest rewards, or replace the original mods.

License and credits

Original integration code is provided under the MIT License. No third-party mod JARs, textures, translation packs, or Minecraft libraries are bundled. All original mods remain the work of their respective authors.

The project icon uses AI-generated artwork. NEST is an unofficial project and is not affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft.
