yo okay so listen right
you know how in minecraft when you build a nether portal and you go through it, it just like... picks the closest one on the other side? yeah thats boring as hell
so what this mod does right is you build TWO portals. one in the overworld one in the nether, doesnt matter where. then you go to each portal and you place THE SAME BLOCK in all 4 corner positions of the obsidian frame. like if you put gold blocks in all 4 corners of your overworld portal, you go to the nether and put gold blocks in all 4 corners of THAT portal too. and boom. they link. together. always.
so like you could have a portal in your base in the overworld and a portal in your nether hub and they just connect. doesnt matter if theres a million other portals around. the matching corner blocks are like... a secret handshake between portals fr fr
you can do multiple pairs too right. one portal pair uses gold blocks, another uses diamond blocks, another uses dirt, literally any block that isnt obsidian or crying obsidian. each pair links to itself. its like portals have their own little addresses now
you can set the search radius in the config too if you want portals to find each other from further away. default is vanilla distance which is like 16 blocks in the nether and 128 in the overworld
basically this mod turns nether portals from a boring "closest one wins" system into a whole linking network where YOU decide which portals connect. go crazy
wait i forgot to mention it works with any block type not just vanilla stuff. modded blocks work too as long as theyre in the corner positions. the mod doesnt care what block it is it just needs all 4 to be the same
