NetworkOp
NetworkOp replaces Minecraft's vanilla zlib compression with bundled zstd compression.
Vanilla compresses chunk packets one by one.
This mod calculates n = max(player view distance, server max view distance).
It bundles n chunk packets together, compresses them as one unit and sends the merged packet to the client for a higher compression ratio.
How parameter n works:
When n is small (low view distance), total data transfer is low and bandwidth pressure remains light.
When n is large, more data is bundled, but compression performance gets much better.
In tests, compression ratio reaches 8% with n=32 on Minecraft 1.26.2.
If players use a small view distance, n stays small and packets get assembled quickly.
For large view distances, n increases, but these bundled chunks are distant and won't impact gameplay.
This mod also lifts the client-server packet transfer limit to 268MB.
It prevents the server from rejecting oversized packets when the bundle exceeds vanilla's original 2MB limit.
