Description
Skip the boring bits, having the latest r/Askreddit questions scroll past is so entertaining. I made this mod for news, but Reddit is even better...
r/AskReddit headline being displayed
and another
When you see soemthing that piques your interest, press N and you'll be taken to the mod's main screen - the article viewer, where you can see all the recent articles from your chosen RSS feed. The Open Link button ther will open the news article (or Reddit page) in your browser.
Newsfeed viewing screen
When a new article is published to the feed, a notification will appear in the game. You can view the article by pressing the Newsfeed key (default N). The article will be displayed in a GUI that shows the title, description, and a link to the full article. You can also view previous headlines in the GUI.
The mod is designed to be lightweight and easy to use, with a simple interface that allows you to quickly view the latest news headlines. The default news source is set to the BBC World News RSS feed, but you can change it to any RSS feed you like. The config screen has a selection to choose from or you can type or paste in your own URL.
If you have any questions, suggestions, or annoyances, please head over to the issues page and post them. All questions will be answered! This mod is under active development.
Newsfeed is compatible with mod_menu and can be configured in-game.
Options screen
There is a configuration file is located in the config folder of your Minecraft instance. The file is named newsfeed.json. You can edit this file to change the settings of the mod. The config screen is easier though, so nobody bothers with the configuration file.
