Description
NexusChat 1.0
Multi-platform stream chat inside Minecraft.
Twitch + Kick + YouTube + TikTok unified into an animated overlay, with emotes from
7TV (including zero-width), BTTV, FFZ, native Twitch emotes, and Twemoji.
Features
Simultaneous multi-platform support
- Twitch — Anonymous IRC or OAuth, with badges, subs, rewards, and bits.
- Kick — Pusher WebSocket connection, no authentication required.
- YouTube Live — Anonymous InnerTube support, Super Chats, and member subscriptions.
- TikTok Live — Real-time event tracking including comments, new followers, and subscriptions.
All at the same time, in a single HUD.
Real animated emotes
- 7TV global + channel emotes, including zero-width overlays (RainTime, overlays on top of other emotes).
- BTTV + FFZ support on Twitch.
- Native Twitch emotes.
- Unicode emojis → Twemoji.
- Locally decoded static WebP images (no proxy required).
- Custom GIF decoder with proper disposal method support, packed into a 2D atlas: 1 GL texture per animated emote, automatically split if it exceeds
GL_MAX_TEXTURE_SIZE. - Disk cache with a 7-day TTL — instant startup after the first session.
Polished overlay
- Display modes: FULL · COMPACT · MINIMAL.
- Themes: DEFAULT · DARK_GLASS · PREMIUM_GLASS · QSMP · MINIMAL_WHITE · CUSTOM.
- Animations: configurable fade-out lifetime and horizontal slide-in.
- Duplicate collapsing (
x3,x7, ...). - Avatars + platform icons + official platform badges.
- Adaptive username contrast.
- Swappable layout profiles.
Interaction
- Highlighted mentions with optional sound.
- Follower, Subscription and Donation notifications.
- Word and user blocklist.
- Highlighted users (
specialUsers) and alert tracking (wantedUsers). - Keybinds to hide/show, clear chat, and cycle display modes.
- Right-click on any username → mod action menu (timeout 60s/10m/1h, ban, VIP, mod) — Twitch only.
- Live Twitch polls & predictions rendered as a bar over the HUD, with its own position, width and scale — independent of the chat overlay.
- "Widgets" panel: a single screen to toggle and reposition Chat, Poll and Music at once.
- Music "now playing" widget (Windows only): shows what you're listening to — Spotify desktop app, YouTube in any browser, or YouTube Music — with cover art, title, artist(s) and a progress bar, no accounts or API keys required. Two styles (compact bar / expanded card), configurable size and color theme (several presets, plus an automatic black & white fallback if the configured colors ever lack contrast). Optional Spotify account login (your own app, OAuth) for the full artist list and higher-quality artwork.
- In-game bug reporting: a report screen (and a
/nexuschat reportcommand) sends your message, diagnostics and the full mod log straight to the author's Discord.
Commands
/conectar twitch|youtube|kick|tiktok/nexuschat— opens the graphical config menu/nexuschat export [n]— saves the last N messages torun/nexuschat/transcripts//nexuschat report <message>— sends a bug report (message + mod/MC/Fabric/OS info + connected platforms + full mod log) straight to the author's Discord/nexuschat poll dismiss— hides the currently visible Twitch poll/prediction from the overlay
Performance & usability
- Rendering with zero allocations per frame (reused buffers).
- 500-texture LRU cache with actual GL cleanup on eviction.
- Hot-reload for
config.json— edit the file while the game is running and changes apply automatically. - 100% client-side, no telemetry, no dedicated server required.
Requirements
- Minecraft
26.1.2or26.2(26.2=1.21.11) — builds are published for both - Fabric Loader 0.18.2+
- Fabric API version-dependent — see Modrinth for the exact matrix
- Java 21
- Windows is required for the music "now playing" widget (it reads Windows' System Media Transport Controls); every other feature works on any platform Fabric supports.
Quick Installation

nexuschat-<version>.jarin yourmods/folder. - Launch Minecraft and join a world.
- Use
/conectar <platform>or press the config key (defaultN) to link your channels. - Press

Privacy
NexusChat only connects to the official APIs of each platform:
twitch.tv7tv.iobetterttv.netfrankerfacez.comkick.comyoutube.comtiktok.com
It also uses wsrv.nl as an image proxy only as a fallback.
Two features make outbound connections beyond the streaming platforms, both opt-in or explicitly user-triggered:
- Bug reports (
/nexuschat reportor the report button): sends your message, basic diagnostics and the mod's log file to a Discord webhook, only when you choose to send one. - Spotify integration (optional, off by default): if you connect your own
Spotify account, the mod talks to
accounts.spotify.comandapi.spotify.comto read what's currently playing. A small local server on127.0.0.1handles the OAuth redirect — it never listens on any external network interface.
There is no dedicated server and no telemetry.
