Night Striker - Dragon Survival Addon

■ Night Striker dragons - is a sponsored addon for Dragon Survival that adds a fast Night Striker playable dragon species to your world! This mod noticeable alters gameplay with unique attributes, powerful abilities, and new penalties. It is balanced for both solo and multiplayer adventures.

■ How to become a Night Striker?

■ - At the game's start, you'll be given a choice menu of several creatures to transform into. If you cancel your selection with ESC, you can return to it later via your inventory. An alternative method is to use the Dragon Altar from Dragon Survival.

Body Types 

■ - Male - Standard choice. Deals more damage and has more health and can dig faster underwater.
■ - Female - A lighter, slimmer build with narrower chest and forepaws. Deals less damage and smaller, but more agile as the result, and has increased safe distance for the falls.

Both bodytypes still share the overall features of speed.

 Skills

• - Storm Hide - Your scales shield you from fire and lightning. The older you become, the stronger your protection grows. Ancient Dragons gain complete immunity.
• - Shadow Invisibility - Gain invisibility by leveling this skill. It continuously consumes your mana, allowing you to disappear from enemies and prey. If the dragon is wearing armor, its invisibility effect is reduced. Using this skill in a well-lit area increases Hunger, causing you to consume more food. Higher skill levels reduce the this effect. The skill cannot activate without enough mana.
• - Echolocation - Your dragon can use echolocation to detect creatures and items. At lower levels, its range is very limited. As you upgrade this skill, you will be able to sense creatures and items from much greater distances.
• - Striker Eyes - Grants night vision. At maximum level, your vision is enhanced even underwater.
• - Paw Swipe -  Knock enemies in front of you back slightly and deal damage that ignores armor. The older the dragon, the stronger its attack and the farther it knocks enemies back. Unaffected by the items in claw slots.
• - Tail Swipe - Knocks enemies far away and deals a small amount of damage. The older the dragon, the stronger its attack and the farther it knocks enemies back.
  
• - Plasma shot - Fire a devastating plasma projectile that launches enemies into the air and deals explosive damage. The explosion destroys blocks, but saves item drops. Young dragons should use this ability with caution, as they can still be caught in the blast.
• - Plasma breath - You breathe a destructive stream of plasma that ignores armor and sets enemies burning.
• - Striker mana - Regenerate your mana by being in the darkness. Regenerates mana when at light level 8 or lower.

■ Penalties

• - High Metabolism - Your immense power demands constant energy. Sprinting consumes much more food than usual.
• - Fear and Terror - Your presence alone inspires fear. Due to your reputation and the legacy of your progenitor, animals and Villagers will try to avoid you, while hunters will actively seek you out.
• - Item Restriction - Unable to wield or equip certain items, including bows, shields, and tridents. These items cannot be equipped and will be dropped from your hotbar.

■ Configuration ■

- Gamerules

■ Plasma shot damage - /gamerule ds_night_striker_addon  can be used to adjust the power of the plasma projectile and how far enemies get flung.

■  Compatibility ■

■ This mod features automatic compatibility for food, weapon locking, creature detection, and other mechanics that rely on tags. If other mods use the standard tagging system, their items and creatures will automatically be compatible. Otherwise, create a datapack.

■ Has textures for some of the armors from other mods, including Oxygen Tanks from Create. Or leave a comment explaining which armors (include their IDs) in the mod (provide a link to the mod) need to be added with a unique texture. Perhaps in a future update, I’ll make them compatible if I deem it necessary.

 Installation

• Option #1 - add  Dragon Survival version 1.21.1 and Geckolib to your modpack along with this mod. Use the latest version (not before 2.0.63-02.08.2026 due to projectile code additions).
