Nollywel's Tweaks
Background
Hi. I'm Nollywel. This is a mod I have made for myself to give me features that I miss in vanilla minecraft and that fit my somewhat specific playstyle. If your playstyle is similar, you might like it too.
Features
Ghostwalking
The punishment of losing all your items on death is just...too much for me. But playing with keepInventory=true feels makes you not care about dying whatsoever. As a middle ground solution I present the potion of Ghostwalking.
Whenever you die, you leave a soul fragment, lingering at the point of your death. Using soul soil you can brew a potion of Ghostwalk. This potion will teleport you to the point of your death for fifteen seconds so you can pick up your loot. Then it returns you back to where you drunk it. For the duration of your ghostwalk you also get resistance, weakness and mining fatigue. Using the potion of Ghostwalk uses up your soul fragment. Therefore you can only use it once per death. But you shouldn't need it more, right?
Cartography Tools
Maps are a neat thing, but they are way too impractical. With the price of four iron per one map they're never worth making. So I made them a bit more accessible.
With a feather, ink sac, compass, three gold ingots, and two papers, you can now make Cartography Tools. You can use Cartography Tools instead of a compass when crafting maps, but one set of Cartography Tools will last you for a hundred maps.
Misc
In the future I plan on getting more features in and make them configurable by gamerules, so that you can tweak them to your own playstyle.
