Description

Nomisma

Project Goal

To create a simple currency experience meant to be used for adventure maps or crafted worlds and economies.

Features

Coins

  • Simple metals: iron, copper, gold.
  • Good for simple RPG shops with a slightly archaic aesthetic. (No credit card items or paper bills)
  • Coin denominations can be changed up and down in the 2x2 crafting grid.
  • Random chance of some mobs dropping coins when killed by a player(can be disabled)
  • A simple resource pack could rename the coins and/or redo the textures and recipes if you don't like the chosen metals.

Denominations

Each item in the list is worth 4x more than the preceding item and can be crafted up/down in the 2x2 grid.

Denomination values are in powers of four for easy scripting(e.g.  4^0=1, 4^1=4, 4^2=16, etc).

  • Iron coin (value: 1)
  • Iron coin pile (value: 4)
  • Copper coin (value: 16)
  • Copper coin pile (value: 64)
  • Gold coin (value: 256)
  • Gold coin pile (value: 1,024)

Coin Purse

  • Can hold billions of coins
  • Coins can be extracted from coin purse in the crafting grid.  Slot determines extracted denomination.
  • Coins picked up in the world go directly into a purse in the player's inventory to reduce clutter.(can be disabled)
  • Coins can be dropped into a coin purse in a player's inventory by right clicking.
  • Other coin purses can be dropped into a purse to combine their values.
  • Emeralds can be dropped into a purse to store their equivalent value(16 coin by default, can be disabled)

Villager Trades

All emeralds involved in a villager trade are swapped out with coins(can be disabled).  Trade with coins instead of emeralds!  No more ridiculous trades such as an emerald for a loaf of bread.

By default each emerald is replaced with a copper coin(16 coin by default, can be configured).

Balance

  • Coins can NOT be minted or crafted.
  • Coins can be defaced(melted in furnace) to base metal nuggets to ensure real world value.(Copper nuggets requires Create mod)
  • Anti-Cheese system to prevent coins being harvested from a Mob farm(can be disabled).
  • Mob grinder setups won't work, even with CC turtles.

Future Plans

  • Dungeon loot
  • Loot tables for mob drops
