About
Description
Nuclear Bomb adds a placeable bomb with a remote detonator, a large mushroom cloud, and a blast that reshapes the surrounding terrain. It works in singleplayer and multiplayer, including detonations with several bombs at once.
Placing and detonating
Right-click a block to place the bomb. Its GeckoLib model has idle, armed, and critical animations, with smoke, sparks, and beeps that speed up during the countdown.
The detonator arms every placed bomb within 10,000 blocks and starts a 10-second fuse on all of them.
The blast
The explosion destroys terrain within a 100-block radius, leaving a central crater, a scorched ring, and a carved bowl floor with blackstone and magma. It deals up to 10,000 HP of damage at ground zero, falling off with distance, and applies knockback, fire, and radiation nearby.
Radiation is a custom status effect. It is stronger the closer you were to the blast and can last up to ten minutes near ground zero. Higher effect levels deal damage more often.
Block destruction uses asynchronous processing and spreads removal across ticks to reduce server stalls.
Visual effects
The mushroom cloud uses raymarching and custom GLSL shaders, with depth occlusion so terrain can hide it. The screen flashes white, orange, then red, while camera shake combines a sharp jolt with a slower rumble.
Six particle phases add ground fire, secondary blasts, heat embers, dust surges, a suction vortex, and falling ash. These visual effects render on the client.
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.21.1
- NeoForge 21.1.219 or newer
- GeckoLib 4.7.5.1
