Description
Oaks Frontier is a Minecraft Java Neo-Forge mod for 1.21.1 designed to make the process of surviving extremely difficult without ruining the survival game experience, completely overhauling the combat system, new hunting mechanics, and overhauling a few mob's AI.
Survival mode in Minecraft is almost too easy and hasn’t changed since the days of alpha and beta. Oaks Frontier not only aims to completely overhaul how the early days are spent but also makes progress feel rewarding and like you’re improving your skill.
Hostile mobs have always felt lacklustre and easy to deal with after you get iron and just become core to deal with, like a mild inconvenience at best. Now all Hostile mobs (including most modded hostile mobs too) have a new attribute associated with them called “Difficulty” and when the creator first spawns they are assigned a random difficulty based on the game’s difficulty.
Progression
Flint —> Flint shard —> Flint Knife —> Fiber —> Fiber String —> Flint Axe —> Wood Tools —> Stone Tools —> Raw Iron —> Iron Nuggets —> Iron Ingot —> Iron Tools —> Ruby Upgrade —> Diamond/Golden Upgrade —> Netherrite Upgrade
Tweaks and Changes
below is a short list of changed systems and features with a indepth information document currently in the works.
- Zombies now alert each other in a radius of 64 blocks from the alerting zombie, acting as a hive mind now.
- Skeletons will now flee from the player from a radius to keep their distance.
- Some friendly mobs will run away from the player (can be added to with data packs).
- No more tree punching, players must get flint shards to craft a knife.
- Armour and tools now require a smithing table and upgrade templates in order to upgrade armour.
- Villagers, Iron Golems and cats now all come with a randomised name from a list using a JSON (also data pack driven so can be edited with data packs).
- Evokers no longer drop totems; instead, they use it, totems can only be found inside loot chests inside the mansion or traded from wandering traders.
- Wandering traders can now also buy items instead of just selling.
- Removed loads of vanilla recipes to favour in-game actions like planks from sneak right-click logs/stripped logs
- Any meat now makes the player sick.
- Meat can no longer be cooked in a furnace and requires a campfire or a smoker to cook meat with smokers being faster than a campfire.
- Campfire times increased to match realistic times.
- Fletching tables are now used to craft more arrows.
- Archeology overhauled and more detailed.
- Plus 250+ more features!
!! Reminder !!
WHEN CREATING A NEW WORLD, PLEASE CHECK THE GAME RULES AND CUSTOMISE IT TO HOW YOU LIKE AS IT DOES CHANGE A BIT ABOUT HOW MINECRAFT IS PLAYED !!
