ObeseCat

ObeseCat is a Minecraft mod built around one important scientific question:

What happens when you feed a huge orange-and-white cat increasingly questionable nuclear materials?

The answer involves Fat Man, bark-powered weapons, tactical sword skills, unstable artifacts, nuclear physics, magical summons, a secret cow dimension, and one extremely unnecessary toilet.

Some content is designed for survival progression. Some exists for serious combat testing. Some may remove the surrounding landscape and create an awkward conversation with your server administrator.

Features

  • Fat Man, an oversized orange-and-white cat with nuclear dietary options
  • Multiple Paco weapons, ranging from concussive barking to long-range and atomic variants
  • Manhattan Bunkers containing Manhattan Physicists and special trades
  • A persistent Transmutation Cube used to create advanced items
  • Holy Sword and Mighty Sword skill systems inspired by classic tactical RPG abilities
  • Custom sword-skill animations, sounds, area attacks, and equipment-breaking effects
  • Powerful summons including Paradox and Veritas
  • The Secret Cow Level, because there definitely is a cow level
  • Strange utility artifacts including Tiny Planet, Ember Singularity, Wormhole Ember, and Enigma Ember
  • Toggleable Night Vision Mr. Kitty and fall-damage protection from Mr. Kitty’s Paws
  • Custom structures, loot, trades, paintings, visual effects, and sounds
  • A deployable Target Dummy with equipment slots, health and armor tracking, damage readouts, and a floating combat-information card
  • One toilet

Sword Skill System

Ancient City chests can contain the base Holy Sword and Mighty Sword. Combine them with catalysts inside the Transmutation Cube to unlock individual skills.

Holy Sword Skills

  • Stasis Sword
  • Split Punch
  • Crush Punch
  • Lightning Stab
  • Holy Explosion

These skills deliver powerful magical area attacks with their own activation quotes, visuals, particles, and sounds.

Mighty Sword Skills

  • Shellbust Stab — Mighty Sword + Netherite Chestplate
  • Blastar Punch — Mighty Sword + Netherite Helmet
  • Hellcry Punch — Mighty Sword + Netherite Sword
  • Icewolf Bite — Mighty Sword + Netherite Boots

Mighty Sword skills deal area damage and have a 50% chance to force the primary target to drop the corresponding equipped item:

  • Shellbust Stab targets chest armor
  • Blastar Punch targets helmets
  • Hellcry Punch targets the main-hand weapon
  • Icewolf Bite targets boots

Item Obtainment Guide

Villager Trades

Novice Farmer villagers provide several starting items:

  • Fat Man Spawn Egg
  • Plutonium Cat Food
  • Paco
  • Ember
  • Mr. Kitty

Manhattan Physicists appear in generated Manhattan Bunkers and trade special items using Trinitite, including:

  • Hellhound Paco
  • Oppenheimer’s Hat

Chest and Entity Loot

  • Holy Sword — Ancient City chests
  • Mighty Sword — Ancient City chests
  • Toilet — Simple Dungeon chests
  • Mr. Kitty’s Paws — Simple Dungeon chests
  • Night Vision Mr. Kitty — Bastion chests
  • Lithium Deuteride Cat Food — End City treasure
  • Wormhole Ember — End City treasure
  • Enigma Ember — End City treasure
  • Virt’s Leg — dropped by the Warden

Crafting

  • Concussive Paco — Paco + Piston
  • Attack Paco — Concussive Paco + Diamond
  • Assault Paco — Attack Paco + Nether Star
  • Sniper Paco — Assault Paco + Nether Star + Spyglass
  • Atomic Paco — Hellhound Paco + Plutonium Cat Food
  • Tiny Planet — Mr. Kitty + Nether Star
  • Ember Singularity — Ember surrounded by Eyes of Ender
  • Transmutation Cube — Chest + Crafting Table + Trinitite Block

Transmutation Cube

The Transmutation Cube has a persistent internal inventory and converts exact ingredient combinations into advanced items.

It is used for:

  • Holy Sword skills
  • Mighty Sword skills
  • J. Paco Barkkenheimer
  • Hellhound Paco
  • Cow Level Portal
  • Other specialized transformations

Place the required ingredients into the cube without additional items. Successful outputs remain inside the cube.

Special Obtainment

  • Trinitite is created when Fat Man detonates after eating Lithium Deuteride Cat Food.
  • Manhattan Bunkers generate naturally in several Overworld biomes.
  • Manhattan Physicists inhabit those bunkers and use the Nuclear Library workstation.
  • The Cow Level Portal is created through transmutation and opens the Secret Cow Level.
  • Custom paintings use the vanilla Painting item and appear as placeable painting variants.

Target Dummy

The Target Dummy is a dedicated combat-testing tool.

Place it in the world to deploy a motionless Steve-style test target. Right-click it to open its equipment interface, where armor and held items can be installed for weapon testing.

Its optional floating information card displays:

  • Current and maximum health
  • Armor points
  • Most recent damage received
  • Visual health and armor bars

Sneak-right-click the dummy to pack it up and recover its equipment.

It is particularly useful for testing Mighty Sword equipment-breaking effects without repeatedly finding new volunteers.

Notes

ObeseCat is intentionally ridiculous, but its systems are real.

Some items are balanced around survival acquisition and expensive ingredients. Others are powerful testing tools or carefully labeled bad decisions.

The general safety rules are:

  • If it looks useful, it probably is.
  • If it looks dangerous, it absolutely is.
  • If it looks like a joke, it may still delete a landscape.
  • If Fat Man begins glowing, reconsider your immediate surroundings.

Compatibility

  • Minecraft: 1.21.1
  • Mod Loader: NeoForge
  • Designed to work as a standalone mod
  • Optional Curios integration is supported where applicable
