Description
Open Parties and Claims: Warfare
Open Parties and Claims: Warfare is an unofficial NeoForge addon for Open Parties and Claims.
It turns claimed territory into something players can fight over, defend, and configure. The mod adds chunk wars, contested claims, raid rules, claim protection settings, and optional integrations for Create, Create Big Cannons, Create Aeronautics/Offroad, and Xaero maps.
What does it add?
- Chunk wars — players can start fights over enemy claimed chunks.
- Contested territory — active war chunks temporarily become battle zones.
- Capture progress — attackers and defenders influence the war by being present in the contested chunk.
- Raid window support — server owners can control when wars are allowed.
- Daily war limits — prevents one side from starting or receiving too many fights in one day.
- Claim protection rules — control explosions, storage protection, villagers, Withers, and machine interactions.
- Create support — protects claims from unwanted contraption/block-breaking behavior.
- Create Big Cannons support — helps prevent protected territory from being destroyed by cannon fire.
- Aeronautics/Offroad support — protects claims from bore-style mining.
- Xaero support — shows fair-play war markers and allows starting wars from the Xaero World Map right-click menu.
How wars work
Wars are started against a specific claimed chunk. The target must belong to another side and must be reachable from a border, so players cannot freely attack deep protected territory without access.
When a war starts, it first enters a preparation phase. After that, the chunk becomes contested and normal peaceful claim protection is relaxed for the attacker and defender. Outsiders do not get access to the contested chunk.
During the active phase:
- attackers increase capture progress by staying in the contested chunk;
- defenders reduce capture progress by contesting the same chunk;
- AFK players do not count toward capture;
- players have limited war lives;
- explosions and block interaction rules can be different inside contested chunks;
- the attacker wins if capture progress reaches 100%;
- if the war fails, is cancelled, or times out, ownership is restored.
Server owners can also configure raid windows, daily war limits, preparation time, maximum war duration, post-war protection, capture speed, lives, and visibility radius for war markers.

Main idea
Open Parties and Claims still handles parties and claim ownership. This addon adds the warfare and protection layer on top of it.
That means server owners can keep using OPaC as the territory system, while adding more conflict, strategy, and server-side control around claims.
Installation
For normal servers, install the single release jar:
opac-warfare-<version>.jar
Place it in the server mods/ folder together with Open Parties and Claims.
Optional integrations only activate when the matching mods are installed. You do not need every supported mod for Warfare to run.
Requirements
- Minecraft
1.21.1baseline - NeoForge
21.1.232baseline - Java
21 - Open Parties and Claims for NeoForge
Some wider Minecraft/NeoForge versions may be allowed by metadata, but the tested baseline is still Minecraft 1.21.1.
Documentation
More detailed documentation is available on GitHub:
- Server Admin Guide — installation, commands, permissions, gameplay flow, and operational notes.
- Configuration — all config files and options.
- Compatibility — supported versions, optional integrations, and compatibility policy.
- Architecture — internal module structure and service boundaries.
- Development — build setup and contribution workflow.
Notes for server owners
Make backups before using the mod on a production world, especially before updates.
Wars, claim-rule toggles, and runtime data are stored in the world folder under CustomClaims data, so test your settings on a staging server before opening warfare to players.
