# Optimus 0.1.1 beta

Minecraft Java 26.2 / Fabric Loader 0.19.3+ / Fabric API / Java 25. Install on the client and world host/server. No dependency on PocketPhone, PocketPod or the other device mods.

A player-sized (0.6 x 1.8 blocks) humanoid companion inspired by the supplied Optimus Gen 2 reference. Original articulated cuboid model, black visor, white panels and cyan details. Walk, arm and head animations. Includes an inventory icon and Mod Menu icon.

## Get and place your robot

Creative: search for Optimus in Tools & Utilities, or use `/give @s optimus:robot`.
Survival recipe: `IRI / CDC / IRI`, where I=iron ingot, R=redstone, C=copper ingot and D=diamond. Right-click a block with the item to place and link a robot to yourself. A robot created with `/summon optimus:robot` is linked by its first right-click.

## Task menu

Right-click your robot to open its controller:
- Wachten: stay in place.
- Volgen: follow the owner with ordinary ground navigation.
- Verzamelen: collect dropped items within 12 blocks of the task's start position. Uses 18 storage slots; it does not mine blocks or take things from chests. Other online players' thrown items are skipped when their thrower is known.
- Patrouilleren: walk around the task's start position, within a local area of about 12 blocks.
- Spullen ophalen: transfer stored items to your inventory; anything that does not fit stays with Optimus.
- Repareren: one iron ingot restores 10 of its 40 health. Free in creative mode.

Only the owner can use task buttons. The owner must be nearby to use the controller. Ownership, task, anchor and cargo are saved with the robot. Robots do not naturally despawn. Stored cargo drops if the robot dies.

Tasks pause when the owner is dead, offline or in another dimension. The robot uses normal loaded-chunk pathfinding, can swim and open wooden doors, and cannot teleport, fly, break blocks or reach every obstacle. Follow mode is for paths a ground mob can walk. This is rule-based game AI, not a language-model chat assistant.

## Build and validation

Use JDK 25 and `gradlew.bat build` (or `./gradlew build`). `runGameTest` runs isolated Minecraft server tests. Test code is a separate source set and is not installed with the runtime jar. The tests do not load or alter your existing worlds. Game model rendering and the control screen still require an interactive in-game visual check.
