🌍 Origeon
![]()
A world generator that thinks like a planet. Mountains rise where tectonic plates meet, rivers actually flow downhill to the sea, and climate makes sense from pole to equator. Everything is configurable from a live-preview screen, and it's fast enough to generate huge LOD distances with Voxy.
⛰️ Plate-Tectonic Mountains
Four real mountain types, each with its own shape:
- Fold mountains: long parallel ridges along plate boundaries, like the Alps or Zagros
- Block mountains: tilted fault blocks with steep scarps and high plateaus, like the Sierra Nevada
- Fold-block mountains: old fold belts lifted again along faults, like the Altai or Tian Shan
- Volcanic mountains: cones with craters and lava lakes, in arcs along plate boundaries and as ocean islands
Mix them freely, tune height, scale and coverage, and add cliff overhangs. Mountains scale to fit your world height, so a taller world gets taller peaks.
🌊 Real Water
- Drainage-based rivers that start as small streams, join together and flow down to the sea
- Lakes and ponds where rivers settle (dry biomes get fewer)
- Waterfalls where rivers drop over ledges
- River current pushes boats and items downstream
- Continents, oceans, inland seas and archipelagos, all adjustable
🌡️ Logical Climate
- Temperature and humidity change gradually across the world, so deserts don't sit next to glaciers
- Green biomes slider to make lush biomes more common than ice or desert
- Uses all vanilla biomes plus new ones: Tundra, Cold Steppe, Boreal Forest, Highland Moor, Temperate Rainforest, Scrubland, Woodland, Alpine Tundra, Volcanic Slopes, Volcanic Caldera, Snow Volcano, Geyser Basin, Basalt Coast, Pack Ice
🍂 Autumn Forests
Eight autumn forest biomes, from Golden at the edges to Crimson at the heart, with eight new colours of oak leaves. You control how many forests turn and how gradually the colours shift.
🌲 Better Trees
Adjust tree size, variation and density. Crown depth gives oaks and birches round, full crowns and spruces branches almost to the ground, like real trees.
🏞️ Landmarks
Pack ice and icebergs · Sky islands · Stone arches · Spire fields · Basalt causeways · Crater lakes · Cenotes
🏛️ Structures & Adventure
- Pioneer Trail: one road across the whole world through spawn, with campsites full of loot, marker posts across sand and snow, and boardwalks over water
- Desert ruins: sunken tombs and lost caravans, guarded by monsters and traps
- Winter ruins: frozen crypts and lost expeditions locked in ice
- Dinosaur remains: giant bone skeletons half out of the ground
- Fallen meteorites (experimental): magma craters with diamonds and rarer things in the core, and blazes that wake up when you come close
- Spiral mines (experimental): open-pit mines with haul roads, rails, minecarts and ore in every wall
- Frequency and size sliders for every vanilla structure: villages, outposts, ancient cities, strongholds, trial chambers and more
- Find anything with
/origeon find
🕳️ Caves
Adjustable cave density and size. Set density to 0 to remove Origeon's caves completely.
⚙️ Configuration
- Pick Origeon as the world type and open a full settings screen with tabs: Terrain, Mountains, Biomes & Autumn, Water, Trees, Structures, Caves, Voxy & Add-ons
- Live previews for every setting, plus a World Map with surface, height, temperature, humidity and mountain layers
- Presets: Balanced, Realistic, High Peaks, Islands, Autumn. Save your own too.
- Custom min/max world height and sea level
- Explorer's Atlas keybind to view the map in-game
- Settings via Mod Menu
🔭 Voxy & Add-ons
- Built for Voxy and Voxy SeedGen: set LOD levels and radius in Origeon, and they're applied to both on Save
- LODs can follow the player as you travel, and rivers and lakes show up in distant terrain
- Connected Biomes integration: Origeon syncs its blend width with your transition smoothness
🦕 NEW in 1.3: Eras
Explore regions from five ages of the Earth. A region only ever borders the ages just before and after its own, so you travel through time step by step:
- Archean: lava fields and dark rock under a young crust, before any life
- Proterozoic: bare rock banded red with iron, and huge "snowball Earth" glaciers
- Paleozoic: coal swamps of tall scale trees, fern forests and red deserts
- Mesozoic: araucaria forests, cycad plains and three times as many dinosaur remains
- Cenozoic: today's world
Spawn stays in today's world by default, so a new world still starts with trees, animals and villages.
⚠️ Not compatible with Tectonic, Terralith or TerraCliff, because they all replace the same terrain generation.

❓ FAQ
Does this mod add new blocks to the game? No! All the blocks are from vanilla minecraft, nothing new is added. Can I add it to an existing world? Only newly generated chunks use Origeon, and you'll get ugly seams at the edge of the explored area. Start a new world. Can I use it in modpacks? Yes, but only if you're not publishing this modpack, don't forget about ALL RIGHTS PRESERVED. Server-side? Install it on both the server and the client.
