it does not work on forge or on 1.20.2+

Impact: (1)

  • Gameplay is mostly similar to vanilla.

  • Scaling is linear and based on progression and familiarity.

Abilities:

All abilities from previous levels are retained on level-up. Some crafting recipes are spoilered in case you want to discover them as you play.

Level 1: (Novice) Alchemist

Field Research:

Explore new recipes to fill your Research bar, and gain Experience each time it's filled.

  • Standard Issue: You start with a notebook, three bottles, and a pair of shears.
  • Mind Over Matter: You deal reduced attack damage and are more vulnerable to incoming damage, but gain more overall XP.

Tools of The Trade:

Craft special recipes in your inventory by right-clicking one ingredient with another.

  • Handy: You can craft bundles, repair leather armor, and apply wax to tools in your inventory.
  • Component Pouch: You have extra inventory space for alchemical reagents. Access with the Primary key.

Multidisciplinary:

Explore the Overworld and discover new recipes to hone your skills.

  • Flask Carrier: You have extra inventory space for storing your potions. Access with the Secondary key.
  • Journeyman (unlisted): You exhaust a little slower and can go sleepless for longer before spawning phantoms.

(You can craft the recipes without learning them in-game, but you get XP for unlocking them all, so please don't cheat :D)

Advanced Crafting Recipes:

Primary Ingredient Secondary Ingredient Result Use
Basic Solvent Glow Berries Luminous Oil Crafting
Any Alchemist Potion Ghast Tear Distilled Solution Enhancement

Additional Information:

Potion Usage:

  • Crafted potions generally fall into four categories: Consumables, Throwables, Applicables, and Placeables.

  • Consumables are drank like normal potions, and add to a shared duration pool.

  • Throwables are thrown with the Attack key, and usually break the bottle.

  • Applicables are applied by use in the inventory (or by Using in the mainhand while holding a valid offhand item).

  • Placeables are placed on solid blocks by Using them.

  • Some potions may fall into multiple categories.

  • Most potions have vanilla effects attached to them in case the effect handler breaks.

Known Issues:

  • Crafting doesn't play well with creative mode.
