Origins+

A community content pack for the Origins mod on NeoForge, adding a curated set of new, Minecraft-grounded origins with their own unique powers, trade-offs, and playstyles.

What is this?

Origins+ is a more Minecraft-grounded take on the classic Origins++ concept. Rather than drawing on fantasy or out-of-universe themes, every origin here is inspired by real creatures and mechanics that already exist in the world of Minecraft, so each power feels like it belongs in the game. It is designed for survival and adventure gameplay, and each origin is built around a clear identity with meaningful strengths and weaknesses.

Status: Work in progress. The mod is currently incomplete, with new origins being added over time.

Features

• High quality origins, each with a distinct kit of buffs, drawbacks, and active abilities.
• Balanced trade-offs — every origin gains powerful advantages, but pays for them with real downsides so the choice matters.
• Thematic, vanilla-friendly powers rooted in existing Minecraft mobs and items (hoglins, frogs, binturongs, and more).
• Active abilities with cooldowns and resource bars, passive attributes, damage modifiers, and conditional "berserk"-style powers.
• Integrates with the Origins selection screen and powers system; no new blocks or items required.

Added Origins

• Frog — A nimble amphibian that thrives in and around water. Swim faster, see clearly underwater, breathe beneath the surface, leap great heights, and dash forward on command — but you are fragile, and fire is especially deadly to you.
• Binturong — A tree-dwelling bearcat at home in the canopy and the dark. Climb walls, take no fall damage, scare off creepers, see in the dark, and strike with claws — but your lungs are small, your fur burns easily, and you shun the daylight.
• Boarling — A stocky, hooved bruiser built for close-quarters brawling. Hit hard, shrug off projectiles, resist knockback, and eat heartily; but your bulk slows you down, your hooves can't grip unwieldy items, and predators find you irresistible when you're on fire. When the going gets tough and your health drops low, you fly into a berserk "hog wild" rage, moving and hitting even harder.
