Description
Paraglider is a mod focused around recreation of the Paraglider, an item in Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and its surrounding systems. Paraglider offers…
- Paragliders: A handheld item usable by holding it in hand and jumping off a distance.
- Can be dyed.
- Fires will create updraft wind, which you can ride to gain height! Look out for rising wind particles while holding Paraglider.
- Deku Leaf, modeled from TWW, is also available as an alternative skin to regular Paragliders. Though, it's purely cosmetic.
- Stamina System: The mod adds simple stamina system as a resource for using Paraglider. Modeled after BotW's stamina mechanic.
- Can be disabled via config.
- Can also be enabled further, by making running and swimming also consume stamina. If you like pain, that is.
- Heart Containers & Stamina Vessels: You can upgrade your max. HP and stamina.
- Collect four Spirit Orbs, and exchange it for an upgrade of your choice from Goddess Statue. Where's the statue? She's primarily known to be found around villages. There might be other places you can find her, though.
- Spirit Orbs can be earned in various ways - they can be found in numerous ancient ruins, hidden treasures, mysterious temples and architectures towering over the burning lakes of underworld.
- Machines that can summon endless forces of vile are also known to contain an orb inside.
- A chamber of bronze buried deep in earth, harboring many "trials" and rewards, also seems to give Orbs for a reward.
- Or, if you want more "direct" ways of obtaining the stuff, challenge yourself to the terrible Dragon or Three-headed Beast of Hell. Saving a village from the attack of evil forces is also rewarded handsomely. By the Goddess, presumably.
- A more… Sinister, statue is also known to appear rarely in villages, or buried deep in random places. Some say it will buy off your hearts, or stamina vessels, exchange for money. He also appears to offer buyback as a service.
- Did I mention there's 3 cosmetic skins you can choose for Goddess Statue? All based on the variations found in BotW!… What? No, not the giant ones. Sorry.
In addition to the features above, Paraglider offers numerous config options to spice up or enhance the gameplay to your taste.
- Paragliders themselves have a few options - you can add durability to Paragliders, and adjust horizontal move speed while paragliding.
- You can add or modify wind sources based on block tags, or blockstates.
- With the config file. (~20.x)
- With datapacks. In addition, you can also adjust the wind height - though, exceedingly tall wind height can cause performance degradation. (21.x~)
- You can adjust maximum number of Heart Containers, or Stamina Vessels you can have. You can even adjust the amount of max. HP you start with, or stamina you start with, OR stamina you get from each Stamina Vessels. Go nuts. Make players start with 3 max hearts or something. Authentic experience amirite???
- You can add custom "bargain recipes," i.e. buying things from statues.
- If you don't want all these statues and upgrades and stuff, just turn it off. But how would statues get a job now? :(
- You can even turn off one specific drop, or disable only one kind of vessel while leaving the other one obtainable.
