Description
PCA Shop
Shop counters for PCA Currency: students spend the coins in their wallet, run shops of their own, and earn money selling to teacher shops.
PCA Shop gives the coins from PCA Currency something to be spent on, with no complicated setup. Place a Shop Counter, hold an item, type a price and click Add held item. Students right-click the counter, see what's for sale and buy with one click.
It was made by Pixel Creators Academy for teaching on Minecraft servers and works on any Forge 1.20.1 server with PCA Currency.
What it's like to use
- A teacher shop: the teacher places a counter, switches on Teacher shop, and adds bread at 20p and torches at 5p. Then they add wheat with Buy it at 5p: now the shop pays students for wheat.
- Earning: students farm wheat, bring it to the counter and click Sell. Each one adds 5p to their wallet.
- A student business: Amy places her own counter, holds her stack of cookies and adds them at 10p each. Her cookies go into stock, and each time someone buys one, 10p goes straight into her wallet, even if she's logged off.
- Shopping: Ben right-clicks Amy's shop and sees "Cookie 10p · 14 left" and his wallet, "£1.35". Shift-click buys five.
The items for sale float above each counter, so students can see what a shop sells from across the room.
Features
For students
- Buy with one click, or five with shift-click. You can't overspend: buttons grey out when you can't afford something or it's sold out.
- Run your own shop: sell your own items. The money goes straight to your wallet.
- Works in adventure mode.
For teachers
- Teacher shops have unlimited stock and can buy items from students, a simple way to pay for jobs, collecting or good work.
- Edit any shop and set prices, names and stock.
- Protected: only the owner or a teacher can change or break a shop, and counters don't break in explosions.
- Sales figures on every item, and every sale written to the server log.
Fair by design
- Student shops can only sell what's actually in stock, and can't buy from players, so nobody can create money.
- Owners can't buy from their own shop.
- Breaking a student shop gives its stock back.
