About

Description

One day, in a normal Minecraft world, a black mass known as "The Darkness" invades the Overworld, corrupting the mobs. The Darkness can be found anywhere, and it corrupts mobs on contact.

The Apocalypse

The Darkness has somehow came into Minecraft, even after Learning with Pibby: Apocalypse was cancelled, so it somehow escaped. It can corrupt creepers, spiders, zombies, silverfish, phantoms, skeletons, chickens, iron golems, cows, witches, cod, ghastlings/happy ghasts, pigs, endermen, and cave spiders. When these mobs get corrupted via contact with the Darkness, they will mindlessly hunt down any mob to corrupt them if they can be corrupted. A notable sign of corruption is the emojis, which appear around a corrupted mob as well as blobs of the corruption. The Darkness has three block types: solid blocks, liquids, and fire. All of them can corrupt a mob on contact, while dead darkness semi-corrupts mobs with Glitch Sickness. If a corrupted mob successfully kills a mob valid for getting corrupted, then that mob will get corrupted. Do not fret if you accidentally hurt a corrupted mob, as the Darkness will just heal them.

These mobs cannot be reverted back upon being corrupted.

Glitch Sickness is a status effect that is the form of semi-corruption in this mod. When a mob dies with this effect, they will convert into their corrupted version if they have one. If a corrupted mob accidentally kills another corrupted mob, then that mob dies as normal.

Currently, I do not plan to make an official Fabric port, since I know nothing about it. If anyone wants to make a Fabric port, then they might want to make a Fabric version of the mod.

Some of the corrupted mobs are compatible with Fresh Animations.

(V2 is in development! V2 will be a complete rewrite of the code, so when V2 releases, the old page will be removed. Some changes except for changes I said no to will be added in V2.)

Current plans for V2:

Darkness Broodlings: mobs that hatch from Darkness eggs and seek out for a host to possess, killing them subsequently. They explode when exposed to Nether air or making contact with or eating Sculk. They can find pre-existing corpses from Butchery to possess them. Non-living host Broodlings are less powerful whereas living host Broodlings are much stronger in their true form, having 130 health points!

Corrupted Mob remodels: Some corrupted mobs will be remodeled, like the Corrupted Ghastling.

Corrupted Mob evolution: Corrupted mobs will be able to evolve. During evolution, corrupted mobs gain new abilities.
