Potato Roots is a small farming-themed update about how greed for a bigger harvest turns
an ordinary potato into a living monster. Brew a Potion of Fertility and water your potato
crop, it'll start growing on its own, but leave it unattended too long and it swells into a
Giant Potato, which eventually bursts open into Kartofan, a pest that trsamples your
farm. Kill it for vines and craft the Vine Cloak: it hides your nametag, the hood tracks
your gaze, and crouching turns you into a pile of leaves. On top of that: a hoe with
auto-harvesting and a Harvest enchantment, a rare abandoned-garden ruin that only spawns near
rivers, villager trading — and a pig that explodes after overeating giant potatoes

Fertility Potion

Water your potatoes with it, and a chain reaction begins: growth → giant tuber → Kartofan. The potion only needs to be used once — after that, everything unfolds on its own over time.

Giant Potato

Ripens in 4 stages, with eyes appearing as a fair warning before danger arrives. Break it normally for a generous drop. Break it with Silk Touch for a decorative trophy. Ignore it too long, and it bursts on its own.

Kartofan

A fully custom mob with a "bite and retreat" behavior — it damages crops and flees from pigs. Weak in combat, but destructive to your farm.

Drops potatoes every time, plus a small chance of dropping a Potato Root — the material needed to craft the Vine Cloak.

Vine Cloak

0 armor, pure stealth: the hood tracks your head movement, glows in the dark, and sheds falling-leaf particles while sprinting. Crouch, and you transform into a pile of leaves.

The Hungry Pig

Eats giant potatoes lying nearby, saving your crops from turning into a Kartofan. Grows larger with every tuber eaten, and after the tenth, it explodes with a bonus drop of pork.

Hoe and "Harvest" Enchantment

Right-click a ripe crop for an instant harvest with automatic replanting. The enchantment expands the harvest area: a cross shape (I) → a 3×3 area (II).

Abandoned Garden

A procedurally generated ruin found near rivers: an overgrown crop bed, a broken fence, and a chest full of loot.

Villager Trading

Librarians sell the "Harvest" enchantment book. Master Farmers are the only villagers who will buy giant potatoes from you.

Gamerules

The cloak's stealth features are configured separately on the server:
