Description

PotionOverrides

A mod for modpack makers to control brewing from a JSON file. Remove vanilla or modded brewing recipes, add your own, and optionally have potions cleanse active effects like milk.

Features

  • Blacklist "start" reagents (the first ingredient added to a water bottle)
    • Example: "blockedStartReagents": ["minecraft:sugar"]
  • Blacklist ingredients
    • Example: "blockedIngredients": ["minecraft:gunpowder"]
  • Blacklist outputs
    • Example: "blockedOutputPotions": ["minecraft:long_swiftness"]
  • Blacklist specific vanilla recipes
    • Example: "blockedVanillaMixes": [{ "input": "minecraft:awkward", "result": "minecraft:strength" }]
    • Leave out input, reagent or result to match anything, e.g. { "reagent": "minecraft:golden_carrot" } blocks every vanilla recipe using a golden carrot
  • Add new brewing recipes (Awkward Potion + ingredient = potion)
    • Example: "ourMixes": { "minecraft:amethyst_shard": "mypack:example_potion" }
    • The potion must already be registered by another mod, a datapack or KubeJS. This mod doesn't create potions.
  • Optionally clear all active effects when drinking a potion (like milk)
    • Example: "clearEffectsOnDrink": true

Configuration

Edit config/potionoverrides-brewing.json, created on first launch and read at. NOTE: This mod changes nothing until you configure it.
