Welcome to Pumpkin Nightmares and Dreams! A mod made for the SpookyJam 2025!
Explore the world for various Pumpkin Patches where you can find great loot and, during the night, fight the sneaky Vinelings! Slay them to obtain their Hardened Vines, you'll need them!
In Dark Forests and Taigas you will find the Pumpkin Arena! Surround a lightning rod with Hardened Vines to obtain the Eerie Stem - the key which activates the Pumpkin Husk's ritual!
Fight the Pumpking! Enjoy a whole new boss fight resulting in some brand new loot - the Heart of the Pumpking!
Speed up your farms or make an easy flower farm! Combine the Heart of the Pumpking with some bonemeal and iron (check your recipe book) to create the Lifeblood Vessel - a brand new item that grants the Pumpking's blessing to your farm and speeds up growth in a 9x9x9 area of farmland or grass! And it's stackable!
Make your own little harvesting buddy! Right click a Pumpkin with the Heart of the Pumpking to create Pumpykins - a cute little walking pumpkin who will harvest your crops and deposit them in a chest for you! He replants the seeds too! He gets a bit hungry every once in a while though - a crop or two might go missing a few times…
Enjoy the feast! Find 2 brand new food sources - Toasted Pumpkin Seeds and Roast Pumpkin - simply cook Pumpkins or Pumpkin Seeds in a furnace, smoker or campfire.
A whole new building palette! Make new pumpkin faces on the Carving Table and combine them with torches for their Jack O' Lantern variants! Enjoy a range of shades and faces, bringing the pumpkin totals to 13 Carved Pumpkins and 13 Jack O' Lanterns. OoOooOoOo SPOOKY
Decorate! Light up your builds with Pumpkin Lanterns! Bedazzle your world with the Sparkly Pumpkin blocks, walls, slabs and stairs! They're just a tad expensive though…
This mod is a great choice for early game farming, as long as you can survive the awesome Pumpking fight!

Mechanics:
Pumpkin Patches Spawning Details
- The smaller Pumpkin Patches can be found in grassy biomes.
- The bigger patch with the House, as well as the Arena can be found in Taigas, Dark Forests and Old Growth Taigas.
Summoning the Pumpking
- Obtain Hardened Vines by killing Vinelings or looting the Pumpkin Patches.
- Surround a lightning rod with Hardened Vines to make the Eerie Stem.
- Right click the Pumpkin Husk at the arena with the Eerie stem.
Summoning Pumpykins
- Place a regular pumpkin on the ground.
- Right click it with a Heart of the Pumpking.
Pumpykins Details
- Pumpykins is automatically owned by the player who summons it.
- Pumpykins can be made to sit down just like a regular Minecraft dog.
- Pumpykins will harvest all grown crops except for Watermelon and Pumpkin.
- Pumpykins will deposit crops and seeds after every 5 harvests.
- Pumpykins will replant the same seed as the plant it just harvested.
- Pumpykins will target a chest when spawned and will always go to that chest unless that chest is full. Then it will switch to the next available chest.
- There is a chance that Pumpykins will consume one of the crops it has just harvested (10% chance).
- We recommend that the farm in which one or more Pumpykins are working be surrounded by a fence as they wander around when there are no crops ready to harvest.
Lifeblood Vessel
- The Lifeblood Vessel will "bonemeal" an area of 9x9x9 blocks of planted seeds on farmland as well as grass.
- You may stack as many Lifeblood Vessels as you wish, based on the area of effect.
- Each Lifeblood Vessel gives its effect on a 15 second cooldown.
- The area of effect and cooldown are configurable via the mod config file.
