Description
RA Oils
Prepare your weapons for the creatures you are about to face.
RA Oils adds craftable weapon oils that provide extra damage against specific creature types or apply combat effects. Coat swords, axes, tridents, and—on versions where it is available—the mace.
How to use
Hold your weapon in your main hand and an oil bottle in your offhand, then right-click to apply the coating. You can also combine a weapon and an oil bottle in a crafting grid.
Each functional oil bottle provides 3 applications. By default, one application lasts for 20 successful hits.
To remove a coating, use the coated weapon on a water-filled cauldron. Partially used bottles of the same oil can be combined in a crafting grid.
Oils
- Undead Oil: extra damage against undead creatures.
- Arthropod Oil: extra damage against spiders, insects, and other arthropods.
- Animal Oil: extra damage against animals and supported beasts.
- Aquatic Oil: extra damage against aquatic creatures.
- Universal Oil: extra damage against all living targets.
- Poison Oil: applies Poison I for 5 seconds.
- Fire Oil: sets the target on fire for 2 seconds.
- Frost Oil: applies Slowness II for 5 seconds.
- Weakness Oil: applies Weakness I for 5 seconds.
- Wither Oil: applies Wither II for 5 seconds.
Category oils provide +30% damage by default. Universal Oil provides +10% damage. Damage bonuses and coating duration are configurable.
Plain Oil is the crafting ingredient used to make functional oils.
Mod compatibility
Built-in target lists include creatures from Alex’s Mobs, Alex’s Caves, L_Ender’s Cataclysm, Born in Chaos, Naturalist, Ice and Fire, The Twilight Forest, The Aether, Aquaculture 2, and more.
Compatibility applies to appropriate creatures within each category, not necessarily every mob from a supported mod. These mods are optional.
Server configuration allows you to change damage bonuses, add target entity IDs, exclude creatures, and control automatic category detection.
Versions and installation
Separate builds are provided for selected Forge and NeoForge versions from Minecraft 1.16.5 to 1.21.1.
Install the JAR matching your exact Minecraft version and mod loader. Install the mod on both the client and the server for multiplayer.
