Description
🌊 Raft World
Raft World is a NeoForge mod for Minecraft 1.21.1 that transforms the game into an ocean survival experience inspired by Raft.
After using /startraft, players are transported to a vast ocean world where floating debris becomes the primary source of resources, creating a unique survival loop centered around collection, expansion, and adaptation.
✨ Features
🌊 Endless Ocean Dimension
- Adds a custom dimension (
raftworld:raft) made entirely of ocean. - Players begin on a small wooden raft with minimal resources.
- No natural terrain or traditional resource generation.
📦 Floating Loot System
- Resources drift across the ocean surface, carried by simulated currents.
- Debris continuously appears around active players to keep exploration and collection engaging.
🌬️ Ocean Currents
- Floating items drift from east to west across the ocean surface.
- When players enter water, they are also affected by the same ocean current, subtly pushing them westward.
- Encourages players to position, build, and collect resources efficiently.
- Creates a gameplay loop inspired by drifting ocean debris.
🚀 Getting Started
To begin a new Raft World adventure, use:
/startraft
This command creates your starting raft, sets your respawn point, and teleports you to the custom ocean dimension.
A starter barrel will spawn on your raft containing a fishing rod, giving you an immediate way to collect floating resources and begin your survival journey.
🧠 Gameplay
The survival loop is simple but rewarding:
- 🪝 Collect drifting resources.
- 🧱 Expand your raft.
- ⚒️ Craft tools and structures.
- 🌊 Survive and continue growing.
🎮 Multiplayer
- Works in both singleplayer and multiplayer.
- Loot generation is handled server-side for consistent gameplay.
- Resource spawning scales with active players.
🛠️ Technical Details
- Custom ocean dimension.
- Tick-based server-side spawning.
- Water-only validation for floating debris.
- Simulated current movement.
- Multiplayer-compatible.
🛑 Compatibility
- Requires NeoForge 1.21.1
- Compatible with:
- Singleplayer
- Multiplayer / dedicated servers
🚀 Planned Features
- 🌊 Biome-dependent ocean currents.
- 📦 Expanded loot progression (iron, copper, and more).
- 🏝️ Procedurally generated islands.
- 🐟 Ocean wildlife and fishing improvements.
- ⚓ Additional survival mechanics inspired by Raft.
