Description

Random Powers

Random Powers is a Forge mod for Minecraft 1.20.1 that grants every player a permanent, randomly assigned ability the first time they join the world. Once awakened, a power stays with that player for good — no potions, no crafting, just a passive or activatable ability tied to who you are.

How It Works

The moment a player joins for the first time, they are granted one of 17 powers at random, with an equal chance of receiving any of them. A message announces which power has awakened, along with a short description of what it does. Players can check their own power at any time with the /mypower command.

Because each power is locked in per player, no two playthroughs — or two players on the same server — are guaranteed to feel the same.

Strength +3 attack damage, permanent
Swiftness +20% movement speed, permanent
Regeneration Passive healing over time, permanent
Cinderborn Immunity to fire, permanent
Nightsight See in the dark, permanent
Deep Lungs Unlimited underwater breathing, permanent
Springheel Higher jump height, permanent
Featherfall Immunity to fall damage, permanent
Lodestone Nearby dropped items drift toward you
Ore Sense Mine 200 blocks to trigger a short burst of nearby ore detection (diamonds, ancient debris, emeralds), visible only to you
Quarryman Roughly doubled mining speed, permanent
Overdrive Toggle a 200% speed boost on demand with a bound key
Nocturne Automatic speed and night vision after dark
Voidstep Blink teleport up to 100 blocks with a bound key, on a 30-second cooldown
Ragemode 500% max health; damage output increases the lower your health drops, up to 500%
Cave Dweller Nametags become unreadable, and caves are pitch black unless you're holding a lantern
Ember Touch Enemies you strike are set on fire for 10 seconds
