This is Re:Spawn - Starting a New World as Natsuki Steve. You can probably tell from the name, it's a Re:Zero mod. This mod brings most of Natsuki Subaru's abilities (Return by Death, Invisible Providence, Beatrice Spirit Contract, etc...) to life in Minecraft!
Lore: (CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS FOR RE:ZERO ARC 6!)
During the event of Arc 6, when Subaru was calculating on how to solve the riddle of the second floor riddle of the Pleiades Watchtower and went to the library to read the book, he ended up in the Corridor of Memories. It was there that the Sin Archbishop of Gluttony, Louis Arneb about to consume his memories.... It was the last thing he remembers before feeling his own consciousness channelled into a new body, the Player's Character. Beatrice is here too, somehow, yet she acts like nothing happened.
Current features:
- Respawn by Death: Works differently from Return by Death. When you die, it creates a parallel timeline where you never did and the event that killed you happened without you even there.
- Punch of Released Trauma:
+ Variant 1: Tap the key (UNBOUND by default) to unleash a punch amplified with trauma, dealing decent damage.
+ Variant 2: Right after a critical hit, time and tap the key at the right moment to unleash a more immediately punch that doesn't reset the cooldown. If your timing is good, you can manage to land up to two continuous punches.
- Free Beako!: Upon entering the game, Beako appears in your inventory as a plushie! But there can only be one Beako in a server. She can:
+ Minya - a spell that shoots out purple crystal bullets from Beako. (hold M2);
+ Use Murak - a spell that nullifies gravity around you. (type "MURAK" in the chat while holding Beako);
+ Use EMT - a spell that nullifies all type of mob's attack around you (type "EMT" in the chat in the chat while holding Beako);
+ Use EMM - a spell that pauses time and space around you, temporarily renders you intangible to all type of damage. (type "EMM" in the chat in the chat while holding Beako);
Note: EMM just throws you in Spectator so be careful not to clip into walls lmao. Lore accurate mistake.
- Shamak: A Yin magic spell that allows you to surround yourself in a thick black fog.
+ Variant 1: Tap the key (UNBOUND by default) to release a thick black fog around you, blinding yourself and your enemy while giving you Speed. Best used to flee.
+ Variant 2: Same as Variant 1, except that you scream louder and gets Wither after. This Variant triggers if Shamak is overused. (twice within a minute)
- Invisible Providence: Upon entering the game, you immediately get the Authority of Sloth, which allows you to summon a single unseen, intangible hand to aid you. It can:
+ Variant 1: Tap the key (UNBOUND by default) to throw yourself in the air. You wonder what the hell is this even for? Well, weirdly useful. It can save you from falls, help you jump three blocks up as well as dealing massive Mace damage if you need to.
+ Variant 2: Hold the key (UNBOUND by default), then release to get the Unseen Hand to evaporate every mobs and players nearby. If you think this sounds unbalanced as heck, then I hope the combo of Wither, Nausea, Slowness and Blindness that occurs a couple second after using it satisfies you.
- The Punishment: Not exactly an ability, more like a curse. When you mention specific words in the chat (Respawn, RESPAWN,...), a mysterious force pauses time, wiping out every players nearby and squeezes your heart.
More?
- Guilty Rod: Instead of the Guilty Whip, you are now blessed with the Guilty Rod. Your very own primary melee weapon given to you upon entering the game. It can:
+ Deal decent melee damage: about as good as a wooden axe.
+ Special: Pull the target toward you. (hold M2)
- Emilia!: Specifically in the Snowy Taiga biome, when you are in danger, she will show up to save you. After that event, you can get to know her and keep her in your inventory permanently. There can also be one Emilia per server. Emilia can:
+ Huma: a spell that shoots out ice bullets from Emilia. (hold M2);
+ Give you the Blade of Eternal Zero: type "give me a sword" while holding Emilia, and she will give you a fast and high damage, but quick to break sword.
+ Give you the The Permafrost Spike: type "give me a pickaxe" while holding Emilia, and she will give you a fast pickaxe that breaks everything, but of course again it's quick to break.
+ Special: If you use her as the melee attack, the target gets slowed down.
This mod is formerly "Authority of Sloth" (a standalone mod for Invisible Providence, which I find ridiculous because it's the only thing I added so here we go). Previous bugs have also been fixed.
Potentially FAQ:
- Q: Multiplayer compatible?
- A: From 1.0.2 and on, yes.
- Q: Compatible with other Return by Death mods (such as MineZero or Hah! Ueuh~)?
- A: Yes, just make sure you installed the right version, anything above 1.0.1 to be able to disable the built-in Respawn by Death of the mod.
- Q: Cor Leonis?
- A: Try convincing me to add that. (Jokes aside, highly possible that it's going to be there)
- Q: 1.21.8?
- A: Yes.
- Q: Does Respawn by Death work in Hardcore?
- A: No, it's designed to keep Hardcore "hardcore", if you want to Return by Death anyway you can add other standalone mods.
- Q: Forge?
- A: Out now!
